How does FP+ work with old non-expiry tickets?

It has been a few moons since I've been at WDW since DL is our "home" park. I am starting to plan a summer trip to WDW and just returning to the boards for the valuable advice here. I've searched and can't find this info so I'm asking the experts....

How does the new FP+ system work with paper non-expiry tickets from years back? I have tickets that we will now be on our 3rd trip to WDW on (I know...crazy!) and will be finishing them this time around. They are from over 10 years ago, so not smart-chip ones. They still have several days and 'bonuses' left to mix and match.

Can I even use the online FP+ system with these?
How do I scan them at rides if there is no more paper FPs?
If we get the 'bands', do they only load a single ticket to them? I may purchase more days when we are there and would want to load them on the band that I load these tickets to....but not sure if the system can do that in the same trip.

Thanks all for your wisdom!

Do your old tickets have numbers on them? If so, you'll be able to link them to your MDE account and book FP+ when your window opens. Once you arrive you'll need to go to Guest Services and have the old tickets converted to new RFID tickets which you'll then use for park entry and FP+ access. They'll also be able to link newly purchased tickets to the same MB.

If you don't need to have a card, you can add the old one to your MDE and it'll automatically be on your MB. We did this with old non-exp tix that were on an old room key. Didnt have to go to GS that way

Thanks all....started an account on MDE and it says I have to call for tickets before 2007....will keep hunting for how to go about this.

how can you get in the part with the old ticket?
I am in WDW and yesterday, I can't get in the part without changing the 2007 tickets...
I also have the paper ticket from 2002, and I could only find out the remaining days from the guest relation (not from the resorts)
I love to keep the old tickets, but they void the tickets and took them away

The number on your old ticket is still in the system, I believe. It should allow you to make FP reservation 30 days out, if you stay offsite, which I am assuming you are going to do. Once you get to WDW, you just need to exchange the old ticket for a new one. Nothing changes except the type of ticket you can get. The new one is a plastic, credit card like ticket and contains whatever you have reserved. That is stored in their computers not in your card. Your card only allows you access to that record.

Linking pre2007 tickets is not an easy task unless you have an incredible memory. I've been trying to link my tickets from 2002 this week. You must know who purchased the tickets, where they were purchased, the last time they were used, and the last park they were used in. Knowing the credit card used to buy them is a huge plus. Otherwise, they will not link to MDE over the phone.

Wow, glad you posted this! I have 2 of the 4 day non expire hoppers put away from 2000. I don't think they even have any numbers on them, (I will have to check). I wonder if I should take them with me to the park on my upcoming visit and get them exchanged for later use? (I booked a pkg with tickets this time.) My fear is that, since "never expire" is no longer offered, will any new ticket still be a never expire? I want to use them for one day trips.

We exchanged old non-expiring tickets at Guest Services in Downtown Disney. They exchanged the old style tickets and gave us the plastic RFID cards with numbers that could be entered into MDE. They remain non-expiring tickets in our MDE account. They are also linked to any Magic Band that is associated to us in MDE. Of note - if they were associated to any fingerprint before they exchanged the ticket, we were told that the fingerprint was wiped from the system and the ticket could be associated to a new fingerprint. But that first fingerprint that is used on the new ticket becomes that person's ticket. (We were trying to be sure that we kept everyone's tickets separate and were told by Guest Services not to worry.)

We had 3 days left over from 2005. I called the number given in MDE, and they were able to link the old tickets. It took about 20 minutes on the phone. The lady on the phone was super nice about it.
