How does everyone store their pins?

I was just debating how I should start the pin storage process, and a few different ideas came to mind. Then I thought, "Why not ask everyone how they store their pins?"

So, how do you store them? Books, bags, boxes? In or out of wrappers and backs? Do you have them labeled with pin #? Are they grouped in any special way (by category, series, alphabetical order, PinPic # order)?

Hi from one Amy in Michigan to another! :)

For the longest time, I stored my pins in those nifty yellow bags from WDW! Last year I finally bought a pin bag and now they're pretty organized in there -- I have pages set up like this:

1-Personalized pins & ones that have significant personal meaning to me.
2-Resorts we've stayed at & special WDW events we've attended.
3-Eeyore and a few special ones of various Pooh gang.
4-Patriotic Mickey & Mickey-n-Minnie smooching.
5-Tower of Terror
6-Special groups that I love. I have the WDW lanyard license plates, the square DL kooky characters, and a few more.

I also have a bunch custom framed in sets on the wall in our hallway.

I'm sure you'll get lots of other interesting answers. :)

First, I have to say I am a small fish in the pin trading world but this is me:

I have my collection mostly in frames. I started out with just 11x14 frames but someone suggested bullentin boards and I love that because it holds more and is so much easier to use. I put stiffened felt on it to make a more pleasant background.

Then I have one pin bag (yes, just one!) in it I keep my traders and all the pins I get until I put them into frames. Usually, when the book gets full it is time for a new frame.

I only keep a few cards, the one that add to the pin or sometimes the ones in Japanese. I store the backs in a jar, with a few extra in my pin book.

I frame most of mine... I keep my traders in a pin book. I have only one that I use now but I did have a couple of binders that I used for a few years. I try and keep (what I consider) my good traders up front and easy to get to. I have very few of the black cards but I try and keep any that come on printed cards or postcards...

Thanks for all the answers guys! Right now they're lined up on our computer desk and every time I start posting I smile when I see them. My son and I had such a good time trading for them on our trip. We have so many already I couldn't believe it! And there's so many more I want, but I have to stop. How do you guys keep from going bankrupt with trading!

DiznEeyore-(aka Amy in Michigan) ;) I'm still a newbie and a small trader, but I'd appreciate any info for meets in MI or any other exciting stuff for our snowy (and COLD) region!

For all of you in the warmer areas, we're a high of 34/low of 17 today!

I'm a small trader, too -- my ds actually *trades* more than I do! :) I mostly collect. I know there was a DIS meet at 12 Oaks mall a couple of weeks ago (we didn't make it -- my dh had to work). I've not heard of any pin get-togethers, but if I do, I will definitely pm you! :teeth:

Thanks a bunch! My son trades, too, and we both just started on our last trip (Feb, 4th). He's only 4, so he's not as crazy about it as I am, but he does enjoy it!

Thanks again! Hope you're enjoying this weather! ;)
