Well, in January, i will be staying at coranado springs for the first time. i went there this past summer for dinner at the pepper market. but i want opinions from all of you to see what you thought of it when you stayed there.

Here is a link to a wonderful site all about CSR.

I almost had a chance to stay there; I accidently ended up with Pop Warner at POR. They offered to move me, but I said no. After I got home and looked at this thread, I slightly wished I had taken them up on their offer - for more reasons then I care to list (Pop Warner was the worst). But it looks like a delightful resort.

We love Coronado Springs. It is the one we always stay at. I have looked at others and always end up back at CSR.

I like it a lot - at dawn, and in the evening, looking out over the lake, the place is just beautiful.

And contrary to conventional wisdom, the place is not "in the middle of nowhere" - in terms of actual travel distances to the main parks, it's about as convenient as any of the other moderates. (If you're a big Downtown Disney fan, then it's clearly the furthest. But if your favorite places are Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach, it's ideal.)

We loved loved loved Coronado Springs when we were there last month. It was a very peaceful resort, perfect for our family.

We stayed in the Casitas bldg. in '09 and LOVED the entire resort. Their queen beds was probably one of the most comfortable beds on property. We really like the Pepper Market and make it a point to eat here on every trip regardless of where we are staying. The resort is beautiful and the main pool is also very nice. We are actually thinking about staying here again next August.

we stayed at CS for 8 nights and really enjoyed it. I would have no problem staying there again... i just have to get through the rest of them first!

I stayed there two years ago with a couple of girlfriends and we really enjoyed it. We stayed in Casitas, and it was a bit of a walk both to the bus stop and the main building, but overall the grounds were beautiful, the rooms were great, and we really liked it.

We've stayed at CSR three times (2005, 2008 & 2010). It is truly a beautiful place and we love the pool. A few thoughts:

- It is a big resort, we've stayed in the Cabanas each time so the trip to the main building (El Centro) and the pool is reasonable. The other sections have much longer walks to those locations.

- Many people do not like the Pepper Market, we kind of have a love/hate sort of thing with it. Some of the food is quite good, sometimes it has been disappointing. They add a fee (10%) to your tab if you sit, for this fee a server will seat you and get you your drink (you have to get your own food).

CSR is my least favorite of the Mods. Not that I wouldn't stay there again but I would avoid it if there was a big meeting going on.

Conventions can suck all of the magic out of the place.

Really, you don't like the convention folks? In our three trips I barely noticed them, and they don't clog up the buses in the morning when we are heading out to the parks and they are heading to meetings!

We didn't love it.
The good:
1. Had I not read here on the Disboards, I would have never known it was a convention resort.
2. The pool and kids play area is fantastic.

The not-so-good for us:
1. The size of the resort. Just waaaay to big for us..so much walking. After walking a gazillion miles in the Parks, the loooooong walk just to get a Diet Coke for our refillable mugs was just too much.
2. We didn't love the rooms (but we were there before the last refurb).
3. The food options were not good. The Pepper Market was a pain in the tail to use with 2 little ones. The few times we ate there, we never once managed to eat a meal together. There were also several mornings the line was so long just to be seated, we gave up. We also ate at The Maya Grill for dinner one night and it was terrible. Service was aweful and the food was inedible.
4. We spent the most time on buses during our stay here.

Obviously there are a whole lot of folks who love it here..but it just wasn't for us.

We love CSR! The rooms are very nice, we love the Dig Site Pool, and the buses are normally very good.

We loved CS when we stayed there; it's our favourite mod. The refurbed rooms are gorgeous, I especially loved the wood panelled doors by the vanity area. The whole theme of the resort really appealed to us. We only ate there once, at the Maya Grill, but we liked it too. The pool was amazing. I'm sad we can't stay there again, our family is too big now.

I go to WDW several times a year and have pretty much settled on the moderates as my resorts of choice. We like to mix them up, but have stayed at all four more than once. I'd rank them #1. CSR, #2. POFQ, #3. PORS, and #4. CBR.

We love everything about CSR and in fact I'll be back there in just 9 days.:rotfl: They have the best bus service and best food court. They also have the most comfortable queen size beds (much better than the new queen size beds at POFQ:rotfl:). They also have the nicest kids playground area. They have the sliding wooden doors that separate the vanity area from the bedroom area. They have the biggest hot tub on property and the longest pool slide among the moderates. They are also the only moderate to have a health club/beauty salon and a lounge that is adults only after certain hours. We like that it is a convention resort, because the conventioneers are in meetings all day, leaving the buses for us. We also like how you can get food and also refill your mug right at the main pool, saving a walk over to the main building.

I've been in Casitas 1 (once), Casitas 2 (once), Cabanas 9B (three times), Cabanas 9A (once), and Cabanas 8A (twice). Cabanas 8A is my favorite location by far--two minutes to the main pool, two minutes to the Cabanas quiet pool, two minutes to the bus stop, and less than five minutes from the main building.

Another fan of CSR here! :goodvibes We have stayed there several times and agree that the bus service is awesome, the new rooms are very nice, and the beds are more comfortable than any others we've tried at WDW. We either stay deluxe or at CSR- it has all the amenities we want at half the price of the deluxes. We do still stay deluxe sometimes, but CSR is a much better value for the price paid.

We LOVE it. We have stayed nine times and would have been back for our tenth stay if it had not been to a deal too good to pass up on two DVC resorts.

Yes, the CSR is large. But having stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in September at Kidani, the walk there from our room to the pool was JUST as long as any spot at the Coronado to the pool or the main building. Yes, the difference is that it is inside at the AKL, but I froze my rear off going back to the room from the pool with the air blasting full force. I prefer the outdoor corridors myself.

The CSR has very comfy queen beds, a great main pool, three quiet pools, a fitness center, you can get a massage, there is a pool bar, a bar by the lake and a lounge in the main building.

We've never had a bad meal at the Pepper Market (we prefer getting our food, eating it and then paying for it before it gets cold). I can't comment on the Maya Grill as we've only eaten breakfast there once. The food at the pool is pretty darn good for pool food.

Our favorite section is the Casitas (specifically 4 and 5), followed closely by Cabanas 8A. Casitas gets the edge for the courtyards and fountains.

We didn't care for it either.....vastly laid out.....depending where your room is located, either long walk to the pool of food center.....same with walking across the parking lot to the bus depots.....

Food and the way it's served didn't appeal to us, some got quick meals and we half eaten while others (depends on what you order) were still waiting for theirs.

It was a spur of the monent trip (we always stay deluxe) and got an offer that was hard to refuse....but after staying there....wish we did....we won't go back......others feel it's great...but for us......been there, done that...won't be going back.....we prefer resort locations closer to the parks, especially the MK...

We have stayed at CSR 3 or 4 times and think it is a lovely resort. The rooms are a good size (queen beds) with modern decor and the grounds/lake are lovely. We actually like it MORE than AKL.
We always ask for Casitas 4 because it is close to the first-on/first-off bus stop 2.

.....we prefer resort locations closer to the parks, especially the MK...

Which resorts are you thinking of? You're pretty much restricted to deluxes in that regard, while one of the selling points of moderates is the cost savings.
