I iknow we will be assigned rotational dining for the different restaurants. We are also traveling with 2 other families (my sister and a friend). Will they be given the same rotation so we can expect to eat together? Or is it more likely that we will be sitting with other passengers?

Rotational dining is determined at the beginning of the cruise at check-in. Basically, the entire restaurant rotates together. So, if you would like to sit with the other parties, you can call DCL and have them link your reservations. That way, you should be seated at the same table each night.

Are reservations are linked. At least that's what travelocity said when we made them, so I guess that means we'll automatically have the same restaurants, right?

I would make sure that there are specific notes in your reservation that state you want to be seated for dining with the parties linked on your reservation.

Otherwise...if you don't get seated together..you can always go and try to get it changed after you board the ship.

When you check in at the terminal, you can see what dinning rotation you have and if it's first or second seating. I believe your table number is printed there too.

On a 7 night cruise the codes will be:
LAPLAPL
APLAPLA
PLAPLAP

On the 3 or (4) night cruise it will look like
TAP(P)
APT(T)
PTA(A)

It would be best if you contact your TA and make sure yours and the other families dinning ressies are linked (that is IF you want to sit with them)

>>TAP(P)
APT(T)
PTA(A)<<

So whatever restaraunt you have for the last night you do the same one the next night? Instead of going back to the first?

does anyone know how many people are usually seated at a table? We have 2 cabins and a total of 5 in our family and have requested to sit together of course, but not sure if we will be sitting all by ourself, or will be seated with other people. We only have one child (4 years old) in our group, and she would love it if we got to sit with another family who also had a small child. It might also keep her occupied during diner a little more too! We have taken 1 disney cruise in the past and it was just 3 of us and we sat with a family of 4, but I don't really remember the other tables in the room and how many people were seated at them.

tables seat: 4, 8, 10, 12, and 14. There probably are tables for 6 but I really don't recall seeing any of those.

I would suggest going to the cruise meet board and finding a family with kids your DD's age to get linked to for dinner. That will give the kids a chance to get to know each other before the cruise & they will have a friend to meet up with in the club.
