how does dining work at DL?

Just wondering again I am a WDW vet but no clue on DL

how far in advance can reservations for dining be made wdw is up to 6 months,

what number do I call for Dining reservations?

Is there a dining plan? Is it worth It? what does it include?

one more thing, do people really line up at the gate before the park opens?? should we do this?

There is a dining plan of sorts with a package. It's vouchers for a character meal or two (# depends on how many days of dining you get), then vouchers for certain amounts. You use those vouchers to pay. But you don't get change, so you have to be careful that you don't use too big a bill for a small purchase, and you need to be aware that you'll pay out of pocket if you use a smaller voucher than the cost of the food at that transaction.

There are indeed people on this forum who like it and use it! I'm not one who sees the value. I like checking out menus online, budgeting the family, and buying disney giftcards when we get there to pay for most food, so I'm not using my debit card all day.

People do indeed line up in the mornings! Get there early so you're in earlier.
