How does Child Swap work?

How does child swap work. We have a 3 yo and we know he will not be doing everything we will. Just wondering how it works and what to expect?

You go through the line, and when you get to the ride, tell the CM you want to child-swap or baby-swap. One parent should be directed to ride and the other, with the child, should be directed to the exit where the ride ends. Then, when riding parent gets to the end, he/she takes child, and second parent rides.

I say "should" because I have read here that some CM's don't understand the whole thing. You may need to go into deal to explain what you want to do if you get a new worker.

There is usually always a cast member at the entrance to each ride too, ask before you go in, just in case that ride has a different method of child swapping than another. You wouldn't want to queue, only to be told that you couldn't do it, or that you needed to use a different entrance or something.

This is how it works...go to the line entrance with the baby, so you can prove you actually have a young child and tell them you want to do the swap. The CM will hand you a "Rider switch Pass" the first parent goes on the ride, as the other parent waits. When that parent is done, the second parent shows the switch pass to the CM who directs them to the fast pas line. The switch pass is treated just like the fastpass...but here's the beauty part...its good for up to three people, so, if you have an older child, they can ride twice, once with dad and once with mom, or, you can share some magic with two strangers! The other good part is that the rider switch pass can be used later in your trip.

For example we had a 4:00 PS at H&V, by the time my hubby was done on TOT it was 3:30. I didn't want to miss my PS, but I still wanted to ride TOT and I got to because my switch pass was good for a month! I came back two days later and used my pass.

Different passes that I got had different expiration dates, some a week, some several months, but none expired the day I received them.
