How does Chef's Table meal start? Videotaping allowed?

Hello!

We have the chef's table reserved for after our wedding in November, and I was wondering how the meal started. I thought I read somewhere that they do a champagne toast first, and introduce the chefs to you. If this is so, I would love to videotape the toast to include in our wedding video. Has anyone tried such a thing? Is this how the meal starts? Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Myself, lovely wife, and 19 year old daughter dined at the chef's table in January. It is an extraordinary experience, so be prepared.

You check in with the Maitre D and are escorted through the dining room into the kitchen and into a nook in the back. The table is set for your party, and has a view into the entire kitchen. The entire set up is very lovely, and the chefs are all willing, ready, and proud to talk about what they do, what they are working on, and how the kitchen works.

The chef de cuisine comes over and introduces himself. He asked us if we had any food allergies or strong dislikes, we said no, and he said his chefs would prepare a 13 course meal especially for us. We all received the same main courses, but our cold appetizers, warm appetizers, and desserts (yes, multiple desserts) were all unique.

The adults chose the wine pairings, and I think we had a glass of champagne to open, but in the 4 hours of dining my mind seems to fog on that question.

Regarding filming, I would call V&A and ask.

Enjoy yourself, we 3 sure did.

Craig
