Hi, I am looking to fly AirTran for the first time - I noticed that if you buy a higher price ticket you can chose your seats now. Otherwise you chose at checkin. (the difference was BIG - $49 one way vs $178)

I will be traveling with my two daughters 11 and 8 (Girl's long weekend, leave the hubby behind!). Will they be sitting with me? What are my chances of good seats? What has been your experience?

Thanks for any advice!

I may be wrong on this, but this is how it is working for us so far. We bought the cheapest fare tickets, I know that it states that you can't choose your seats until checkin but we have 3 small children going with us, so I emailed airtran, and now we have assigned seats all together. Don't know if this happens a lot or if we just got lucky, but I thought I would pass it along.

You can check in online and chose your seats 24 hours in advance. It is so nice to be able to get the seats you want and get them together.

Airtran assigns you seats. You just don't know what they are until you check in. At that time you can change your seats if you want different ones.

Thanks for the info - I was picturing us in rows 1, 15, and 29! :rotfl2: I couldn't understand why AirTran would set themselves up that way. :confused3

You have all relieved my mind greatly:thumbsup2
