how does adding on through Disney work?

Dh and I own at AKV, but we think we may want to add on this next year somewhere else...my question is, is it hard to get an add on contract through Disney for an older resort like Boardwalk? how would that work, we'd call our guide and be put on a waiting list of some sort?

Yes, you call your guide and if there are points available for a sold-out resort you can buy them right away. Otherwise they put you on a waiting list. We've done it three times!!! Good luck.

When you add-on through Disney, they will only sell you points with the same UY unless you purchase a new master contract. Depending on your UY, it may take longer for the points to become available. You can add-on as few as 25 points if paying cash/credit card, 50 if you finance with Disney.

At the end of May, my guide said the DVC had acquired more contracts for some of the older resorts (probably through ROFR) and many were available for purchase then. By this time, inventory may be low, though.
