How does a VRBO run by a management company (Magical Memories) work?

I am in the process of renting a condo through VRBO. I have been emailing with the owner but I am paying my deposit to Magical Memories. I'm guessing this is a management company in Orlando that handles everything for the owner. But, when I called to make my deposit, they took my credit card number for my deposit. When I asked if I would get a receipt, they said they don't usually give receipts. Would my bank statement be my receipt? I do have the rental agreement from the owner saying how much I was to pay. I have been looking at my bank account & the deposit still hasn't been taken out yet. I contacted the owner to ask if it had come through on his end. He said they don't contact him when they get payment but that they are usually really good at handling everything. Is this normal? I just don't know how it all works. Anyone that has ever done a rental through Magical Memories or similar, can you let me know what the process is?
