DH and I are leaving in 2 weeks. We got the lime green mickey's from Home Depot but not sure exactly what to do with them, other than just stick them on ourselves.

I thought about getting lime green ribbon and tying to purse? Not sure what everyone else does.

The last time we were at WDW was May 04 and we didn't know about the DIS then so if I saw all of you with it - I wouldn't have known it meant anything!

Would love to have your suggestions.

How do YOU wear YOUR lime green?

Before each of our two trips this year I stopped by Home Depot and picked up some of the Lime Green Mickey Head paint chips. I used them to make lost child ID tags for each of my kids. I would put my kids name and hometown on one, and put mine and my wife's cell phone numbers on the other. I would then cut them out (in Mickey Head shape), put them back-to-back, and laminate them together. That way they were water proof and durable. DS-5 and DD1.5 each had their own tag in their pocket and we practiced with our son what to do if he got separated from us. My wife and I both had our cell phones with us so I thought this would be a good way for a cast member to know how to contact us if the unfortunate situation came up. I'm happy to report that we didn't need them but my son liked the idea of having it anyway.

I had a few extra heads so I made similar tags for our stroller and diaper bag too.

We didn't plan it ahead of time, but the Saturday before last, DW and I both put on lime green shirts for our day at Epcot & MGM. Pretty big coincidence considering she is not a Diser. I liked it because we were easy to recognize to each other through a crowd of people. We didn't meet anyone else from the Disboards though.

While either walking around working at Epcot or walking around as a guest, I find that I tend to look at people coming toward me. Even walking right behind guests, I'm aware they are there but still look at those coming toward me.

Perhaps that's why I personally never notice any lime green Mickeys if they are on backpacks bags or strollers, etc. On the other hand, if they were on the front of a guest's shirt or hat, I would be more likely to notice.

Just my personal opinion and observation.

When my DH and I were there last week I hung my DIS lanyard on my backpack, I also had the DIS button on it too. I actually got noticed by a DISer while I was in line to get a Dole Whip. We also wore matching shirts with our names on them every day, several were lime green. And although DISers did not recognoze us for the shirts it was still really cool for CM's and others to call us out by name. :rotfl:

I just saw a REALLY nice lime green Dooney and Bourke I may be wearing on my arm next trip!! I already have it in hot pink!

I have my DIS pin and luggage tag on my backpack. Don't know about this trip though. DH is really pressuring me to lose the backpack for a trip to see how it goes. :confused3

I plan to put our DIS screen name in royal blue on the Mickey head, then laminate. will wear it on lanyard & put on luggage. Will put a few in our room windows, so be looking in Nov/Dec at POP, OKW & CBR :)
we have matching lime polo & t-shirts. DH made up a DIS type logo with our screen name on it. we took it to a shop that does team shirts & had the logo embroidered on our shirts. since they now have the logo now on file, it is only $4 to $6 to have each item embroidered. I also have a lime visor & lime carry ons which I will have embroidered-
I would like to find some sort of 'cling on' lime green material to fashion a Mickey head out of. Would be nice to put that up in the room window!
How about lime Mickey head earrings from Fimo? or a pin?

What do the lime green mickeys look like, and what section are they usually in in Home depot. I asked before. But, noone answered me. :guilty: TIA.

One reason why I wear a lanyard is to have a place for one of my Mickey heads. But I also have a lime green Mickey Head hanging from my backpack. That way, my lime green Mickey heads can be seen front and back.
jonestavern, we'll be at OKW the same time as you (I think) so I'll look in the windows!

The lime green mickey heads are from Home Depot in the paint department.
They are paint chips for the Disney Behr paint. The official color of the Dis is ALIEN GREEN. They are free! woo-hoo! Hope this helps someone!!

here is my backpack/purse

I also attached them to our stroller canopy and to the strollers themselves.
