How do you visit the parks without a bag?

I would rather go thru bag check then walk around with a bunch of junk in my pockets. I find that uncomfortable, and I would always be worried about stuff falling out. Plus I have seen them (at the Animal Kingdom) direct people with full pockets to the bag check line. My nephew always goes bagless, and I noticed that while waiting in the bag check line, watching him go thru. They pulled out one guy with full pockets and sent him to bag check.

For our May trip I'm going to try and go without a bag, but I will be packing it in my luggage just in case I can't do it, lol. I use the VB mini hipster, so it's not a huge bag to start with. I have found some nice ladies shorts that are cargo-like, so going to try putting my phone in the pocket with the button, CC, ID, chapstick, and I found a travel sized bottle of advil about the size of a lipstick will go in another pocket. Sunglasses on head. Anything else we might need can go in DH cargo shorts. Looking forward to the freedom!

I seriously have never had a bag (unless its from one our many childhood trips) in the parks. Probably 30ish trips in the last 13-15 years. I sew pockets into my dresses that don't have them, or I take a wristlet and have another party member throw it in their pocket while walking in - we're talking the tiny ones, not the ones that are essentially a clutch with a strap. All I need is a few $20s, a cc, id, and phone. I always take mid day breaks so re-application of sunscreen, makeup, fresh clothes is easy and sometimes I'll grab a card if I need one for the evening.

I have a Running Buddy pouch. It's big enough for cell phone, cards, money, etc. and attaches to the waistband of my clothes with strong magnets. My shirt covers it. No bag check needed.

Cargo shorts with phone, CC, ID, and some cash. All 3 of us wear glasses and on our first trip we had to have a bag to be able to switch between sunglasses and regular glasses...after that trip we switched to all having transitions so that we wouldn't need to carry a change with us.

I have one of the women's stretch running belt. Shirt covers it. Guys wear cargo shorts. Magic bands on wrist. Pouch or cargo holds phones, a bit of cash and ids. I buy the tiny individual sun screen packs to re apply when needed.

This is one of the reasons I didnt get the iPhone+... too large to fit in my back pocket! I haven't worried about it falling out on a ride and luckily that hasn't bitten me yet! In the other back pocket is my thin wallet - it has a window on one side for my ID and the other side has two slots for a couple cards and I can shove a bill or two into the middle if I happen to have cash (I rarely do). Chapstick and fitbit in my front pocket and I'm good to go!

This was exactly why I posed this question in the first place. I figured one look at all those pockets and security will tell me to go stand in the bag check line. So I figured, what's the point of going through the no bags line only to end up in the other line anyway?:headache:

I put everything in my pockets until I am inside the park.

Then I take out my black silk neck wallet (the sort of things sold to wear under your clothes to carry your passport securely when you travel abroad), and put my small wallet, chapstick, comb and huge cellphone in it. (Nexus 6P..the worse my eyes get, the bigger the screen I want). The string is long enough to wear crossbody if I like.

Mine is ancient but currently sold ones look like this:Screen Shot 2017-03-29 at 6.35.47 PM.png

DH carries our park bag which is a crossbody type bag that looks like a fannypack with a long enough strap to go cross body.

All I carry in is my cell phone in my back pocket and I have lanyard zip pouch with a clip that I clip to my belt loop. In it is my ID, credit cards, AP, and DVC membership card. I keep it IN my pocket until I'm through security, then I clip it to the belt loop for easy access.

My iPhone fits into my back pocket. If I'm nervous it won't be secure during a ride, then I carry it in my hands or put it into that bag they have in the front. I bring just what I need and if it can't fit in a pocket then I don't need it. I have a tiny little Kate Spade thing that I can put my money and cards and ID into so they aren't loosey goosey in my pocket.

If someone I'm traveling with has a backpack, then I'll bring a little bit more and use their bag. But I bring very little so it's not a burden or make their bag heavy.

I got one of those stick on money/cc holder from Bed Bath and Beyond. Holds my cc and some cash and I usually stick a couple of advil down the bottom. Into the back pocket it goes and I'm set. If I have to take a bag I use those "backpack" bags that are really just a light carry on for water bottles and my glasses case if I need it. I buy them at Ross or TJ Maxx for about $9. They are light. They open up wide so not a problem with security.

For the life of me I have no idea why people want to carry all this stuff around like a Sherpa....I put my phone in my pocket...Driver license and credit card go in a lanyard around my neck...IF its going to rain or IF i'm going to ride water rides...I put my phone in a small zip lock baggie to protect it from getting wet.

Sometimes it's necessary. It's hard to carry around a days worth of diapers and wipes in your pocket. We've went every year since 2009 and this will be our first diaper-free trip. I'm excited about it and hope to try bagless

For just DH and I, the system is......in his cargo pockets,, 2 cheap ponchos, his meds in a tiny container, his wallet, flip phone and a few pieces of candy (like lifesavers). I have a lanyard with ticket, id, cardit card, dvc card, $20 and two or three small strips of mole skin. I have my phone, and small camera that just hangs on a belt loop (no case) and a frozen water bottle that also hangs from my belt. We walk in carrying another water bottle which we drink within the first hour , so we just have to the one to deal with during the day.

Now if they are calling 120% chance of rain, we bring in a back pack with two heavier ponchos, microfiber towel ( to wipe off wet benches) and maybe a small umbrella.

But they still have to check which means I can't go through the bagless line without being stopped.

are you carry a bag, no ... then you go through bagless :)

you can do it, it's kind of freeing not to have a backpack. either that or you really regret it when you realize you need your sunscreen, chapstick, bandaid, poncho, etc lol

I read in another thread here that they've been directed to bag check with that hanging lanyards like that. Has that happened to you ever, or anyone else?
