How do you visit the parks without a bag?

I buy my shorts for Disney (or travel in general) - with the size of the pockets in mind. Women's clothing is AWFUL when it comes to pockets - so I've actually had to search through men's stuff to find things with pockets. My go to has been Columbia Sportwears Men's Brewha II shorts because they have some elastic on the sides so they actually fit me as a women. I also really despise large phones. I've got a iPhone 6 right now and hate its size. I'll be switching to something smaller once this phone gets a bit more dated. (well, assuming there's something on the market besides the mini tablets they seem to try to call a phone.....)

Every time I consider going bagless I talk myself out of it. I carry a small, crossbody bag so its no trouble. The lines are sometimes crazy but I send DH and DD ahead through the no bag line. They can ride Space Mountain, Everest, Rockin RC or Mission Space and we then we meet back up. I can't ride those rides anyway because of motion sickness so I'm not missing out. Instead of rushing through with them and then waiting, I can take my time and have a nice stroll on my own; maybe get a snack or drink. The only downside is the actual bag check line but, hey, I'm at my favorite place in the world. I just people watch and enjoy the day.

We are older and don't bring kids, so it's easier for us. Also, we don't have a smart phone (don't want to be that connected).
My husband wears cargo pants and puts all the essential ID's in a pocket,, some cash, our pills in a very small plastic container, and our small camera in another pocket. I write out our fast passes and adr's for the day on a piece of paper and put in my pocket. It works for us because we are pre-smart phone and don't have kids to bring anymore. I think it would be much harder for younger people. If we want more fp's, we simply go to a kiosk to get one, but usually don't bother.

Pocket my mobile phone, my inhaler, a couple of blister plasters and some cash.

Water bottle goes in a sling of it's own. I ask at the No Bag Line every time if they are happy for me to come through with the water bottle sling. Once they asked to feel it, then said OK. Every other time they just waved me through.

I have a couple of dresses with great pockets, plus where cargo shorts, as they have decent pockets for women! :)

I usually purchase Hurley walk shorts with zippers for my phone (so it doesn't fall out on attractions) and a wallet in my back pocket.

I absolutely hate carrying anything into the parks. If I do, I get a locker on Main St. to store everything that we need if we are not staying on property.

I just put the phone in the bag they include for your stuff if it's a ride I'm concerned it might get damaged or fall out.

My phone- I daresay even long ago when it was an tiny flip phone- has come out of my rear jeans pockets multiple times. It always seems to happen on BTMRR!

I'm a big fan of pockets that zip. Button/velcro is okay.

One thing not mentioned, it is easier for me to go bagless at night. It is easy to give up many items, like sunscreen.

Speaking of sunscreen, in the parks, I carry just a small chapstick-style tube of it. Back at the room, we use bigger bottles of it. but in the park, the small tubes are great.

The sometimes deal breakers for me are all weather related. If the weather is right, we can share one bottle of water (DH's cargo shorts). In hot weather we drink too much. In very cold weather, I need to carry a jacket- though jackets= pockets that zip! In mild wet, we just use cheap plastic ponchos, but in very wet, we bring full on jackets.

Oh, the other important point to mention in a thread like this - emergency medicines! In my years at WDW, I've seen many emergencies related to someone not carrying something they needed: food reactions, asthma attacks, diabetic emergencies, etc. anyone who sometimes needs an emergency medication should bring it in the parks.

Easy for me: I don't take my smartphone with me! After having to be tethered to that thing my entire work week, I don't want anything to do with it on my days off. I wear cargo capris & put ID, cash, credit card & A/P card in a pocket & off I go :tiptoe:

What about this sort of thing?

It's strange that on the very few days I DON'T have a back pack it just feel strange! Most of the days I have it so I can have my big camera in it, along with sunscreen, band aids, ponchos if rain is in the forecast, glass case for real as opposed to sunglasses, chargers and phones. Not to mention water bottles or things we buy in the parks. By the time the week is over, my back is sore from carrying the darn thing!

Will it be okay on Rock 'N Rollercoaster? It looks like a cool idea, though. Where would you get one of those?

my professional experience, don't use a lanyard like this for your phone at a theme park. anything around your neck that might get caught, especially on a ride or a child wearing it should be breakaway so it will come off your neck with minimal damage to yourself instead of possibly killing you. Even disney when they use lanyards hands out ones that will breakaway (clasp in the middle that doesn't take much to open it).

I saw it on Groupon! I just immediately thought after I saw it, "that would be great for Disney!" I always carry a bag but I feel like I am always pulling my phone in and out of my pocket. I'm not sure it would be the best for rides and such? I do carry my real camera on a rapid strap cross body sling and I take that on all rides with me.

Yes, I very seldom find deep pockets in women's clothing. It's so hard to find shorts that fit properly much less have pockets that are accommodating. What I ended up doing last time (I had a smaller smartphone) is put my contents in my pockets and then safety pinned them shut so nothing would fall out on Rock 'N Rollercoaster or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I know I could use the little mesh containers on the rides but I tend to walk off the ride and leave them behind so I like to keep my stuff on my person.
Try Style &Co from Macys - they have a great line of cargo capris and shorts with leg pockets that button for women...

Our last trip I was with my three teenagers for two weeks, so most of the time i was by myself. Just my wallet and phone in my shorts pockets.

Went bagless last June with cargo shorts. Magic Band on wrist. Wallet in back pocket. Cash in front pocket. Cell phone (Samsung Note 5, so not a small phone) in cargo pocket on right. Phone powerpacks and cords in cargo pocket on left.

Just had to empty pockets into a bin to go through metal detectors. Made it even quicker by wearing a ball cap - I'd drop the ball cap into the bin first then put all my pocket stuff in the ball cap. That way I didn't have to stand there reloading my pockets. I could just pick up the cap and reload as I was walking.

iPhone 7plus in my front right pocket (jeans or shorts), wallet with some money and credit card in my right rear pocket, magic band on my wrist. Done...

I have an S5 which is pretty much the same size as the S6. Last trip I used my Disney Dooney wristlet. I had my phone, a small card holder, some cash and my burts bees in there.
I just held it open through security, and threw it on the tray before the metal detector.

Is this a question for the ladies, because I could camp out with all the stuff I can put in my cargo shorts. On occasion DW will wear a fanny pack into the park, but for the most part my phone, ID, insurance card, charging pod for phone with cable all fit into my cargo shorts. There's even room in there for a couple of granola bars and packs of nabs. Been a long time since I've been through a bag check line.

My lightest setup is usually for non-rainy evenings when it's twilight/dark and I'm not worried about hydration, sunscreen, rain, etc.:

1. Lanyard holding my ticket media (Magic Band backup), ID, credit card & $;

2. Phone in pocket.
