How do you use your 50 pt. contracts?

My DH and I are considering several add-ons of 50 pts. each over the next few years. Before we officially decide, we were wondering what strategies you use to get the most from your smaller contracts?

Would you recommend the 50 pt. contracts?

Thanks tons!

If you add-on at the same resort as your master then there's really nothing special about it.

If you add-on at other resorts, you only get the 11-month booking advantage equal to the number of points you own. Every 3 years you can used Banked + Current + Borrowed points to give yourself 150 (on a 50-pt contract) for booking at 11 mos. You will just have to be extra careful in tracking which contracts need to be banked each year to keep yourself from losing any stray points.

We originally bought 150 pts. at HH, then added 50 pt. at VB. When I book our vacations at WDW, I typically use the VB pts. first and save my HH pts. just in case I want to book a HH trip at 11 months. Not really much of a strategy, but HH is closer to us than VB and we would more likely choose a trip to HH than VB. Honestly, I just think of us as having 200 pts. for WDW!

We know no other way;)

We like having the 11 month window & do tend to borrow or buy extra points (until we do our final add-on @ 3rd resort - CRV?)

Of course it sure helps to stretch the points if you're satisfied w/a studio or weekday only split stay (on or off site).

Unexpected benefit, we've finally had a chance to explore more of FL (there is a world outside of Disney -shocking lol) on our off-site days...even enjoy a short cruise.:thumbsup2
