How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?*Final Thoughts & Farewells* 10/7 p100

Whoa! So many updates I don't even know what to comment on!:yay:

Melissa it certainly sounds like you were having a lovely, relaxing start to your trip! It bothers me too how some CM's make such a point about you being a single rider. I think they've just never experienced how lovely it can be to walk around with only your wants and needs in mind! The room at the BC looks soooo nice! I will stay there one day! And didn't you love the wedding? :)

Sorry to those of you who had such long arrival days, I know the travel can be really taxing...

Wow on the updates!!

Love the Main Street and HM pics Melissa! Sounds like you had a great day at MK - btw I am also looking forward to eating at CHH.

eandesmom - you sure had a busy time before departing. Am glad to read you were able to leave work behind and enjoy your vacation.

Jenjolt - wow on getting up for the wedding when you were going to have a long day ahead of you - that sure is dedication!! I loved the wedding and used to have a crush on Prince William. However, as the boys have grown older I seem to be taking a liking to Prince Harry! :rotfl:

Melissa, what was the deal with the TSMM CM - how many times did he have to ask if you were riding solo? :confused3

I love the pic with Mickey and yay on getting some lego shots! It's a shame you did not like your BLT. Your room at BC looks great as do the pics of SAB! :cloud9:

Cynthia-- what a long day you had!! I loved how getting the vodka was very important  :thumbsup2 Would have been for me, too!

Jen-- wow, how do you have a reservation and they have no car for you?! That's nuts and stressful! You had a super long day too, I'm sure you slept like a log!

Melissa-- another heavenly day! BCV is my #2 dream resort and I love your pictures! SAB just looks like so much fun :goodvibes

Whoa! So many updates I don't even know what to comment on!:yay:

Sorry to those of you who had such long arrival days, I know the travel can be really taxing...

We were busy yesterday :rotfl:

Wow on the updates!!

eandesmom - you sure had a busy time before departing. Am glad to read you were able to leave work behind and enjoy your vacation.

I was very relieved

Cynthia-- what a long day you had!! I loved how getting the vodka was very important  :thumbsup2 Would have been for me, too!

:rotfl: that totally makes me sound like a lush! The funny thing is we never buy "hard stuff" at home, all we ever have is beer and wine. But since Christine had bought a blender and I'd ordered the mixing ingredients for our poolside cocktail, the vodka was pretty darn important!

Very good beer scouting Cynthia!!! I enjoy a good beer as well....I like most IPA's and really like hefeweizens :thumbsup2 Oh and lambics too. ;)
I can understand the no fabric trend with bed bugs and all other kinds of germs and such  But I am with you...always cold on flights. James Taylor :rotfl: that made me laugh ;)
Supercute dress Melissa!! Looks like another fine morning! Love the view and so jealous of your time in DTD:goodvibes Sorry you didn't like your sandwich at EOS  I really love it there and have always been happy with the one sandwich I always get. Maybe that is it....I have found a winner and don't try any others :rolleyes1
While you are off enjoying yourself and I was still at home....I still had not even packed :rotfl2:

WHAT! There's a new HM que and an improved hitching-hiking ghost experience? SCORE! Love the pics you took of it! Cant wait to see it in person.

I'd like to say I'm all caught up, but I've just flipped through the pages looking at pics and picking up snippets of story. I have to update my PTR; almost 3 months away!

D4D

You mean you didn't try the creepy clown slide???

Seriously! :confused3 No clown slide! What's up with that? :rotfl2:

Your afternoon sounds perfectly relaxing! Nothing like Main St USA! The balloons always make me smile. :thumbsup2

I love the balloons, too. And she got bunches of balloons going in both directions. How fun is that?

Isn't the new HM queue cool? I was also amazed at the progress in Fantasyland. Still hard for me to imagine what it's going to look like when done. And can't wrap my head around two castles. Or that there will be a tavern with no adult beverages...but that is another story. ;)
:rotfl2: You and those adult beverages. I have to agree that its time to put an alcohol zone in MK. Shooters on the way into fantasyland and shooters on the way out!

I think ending the day with a beer on your ginormous balcony was a stroke of genius!

I can't think of a better place to have a beer!

Melissa, your afternoon sounds WONDERFUL! Pool time, a nap, MK time and a beer on the balcony...pretty much sounds like heaven :cloud9:

Doesn't it! I can't think of a better way to spend the day (and evening)

I've heard it's superrrr hot down in WDW right now...I hope it calms down just a littleeee by next week!

I hope so too. I really find its hard to jump into that intense heat without having much summer at home.

Great update, Melissa. It's amazing what an hour nap can do. I'm with you -- love Philharmagic...it's just magical to me.

I love me a nap! I think Melissa's nap was well deserved! Love philharmagic, too!

Thanks for that shot of the construction in Fantasyland. I hadn't seen that yet.

I was there and I didn't even see that. I never went in that direction. I kept thinking I would back track, but I never did.

What a fabulous day Melissa!! Love the balloon picture and yes Main Street makes you smile from ear to ear :)
I never made it back over to the HM to see the queue :scared1: well C and I went over maybe on our last full day but MK was crazy crowded and we had to get outta there ;)

Especially since there was no place to get a drink! :confused3 Can't believe you guys went over there but had to get out. Was it really that bad?

You could have had a party on that balcony!! Great place for a cold beer and good practice of drinking for the nights to come :rotfl:

Tracy

Seriously. That balcony would be an awesome place for a party. I still can't believe that balcony was on a studio. Amazing!

OK...all caught up again! The prom pix are great!! The Illuminations pix are amazing! All the intros are wonderful! Can't wait for more!

So glad you are enjoying the updates and all the pix. We are trying to keep this thing on a roll. WOOT!

MEK - LOL about the airport thing...I can laugh about it now...DH and I went alone in Sept and it happened again to him and I. We thought we were doing great on time, were walking leisurely towards our gate and all of a sudden, last call for our flight!!! :scared1: Hoping this time is the turning point for us!! But, funny you remembered! I never really left the boards...just got sucked into the scrapbooking forums and can never get out!! :lmao:

You sound like Denny and I. Well, maybe not. We are always late for our return flight, but we are good getting there for departure. I can't believe you made it for last call. SHEESH! That's a tad unnerving. I'd hate to miss a flight on the way there.

And so, flight sleeping in mind, it seemed like the responsible thing to stop at the Alaska Lodge. Which is a little pub at the airport by my gate that serves Alaska Brewery Beer. Fitting, when you are flying Alaska Airlines. This was really in the interest of research as much as anything.

Research?????? :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:;) Haha! That's a good one. I'll have to try that the next time I want a margarita! I need it for research.

Great update Cynthia! Wow - I had no idea how busy your day was. Then you barely slept. Then you had chatty chucky near you. How did you manage to look so normal the next day? I would not have been in such good shape.

I have to admit. I am a sucker for cool looking beer bottles.

For "research purposes" you tried that ale in the airport...:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
:rotfl2: Love that saying!

OK...with that out of the way, you certainly packed a lot of activity into departure day!:worship: You have FAR more energy than I do.

Sorry the red eye wasn't as comfortable as hoped. Perhaps it is the aforementioned energy or just your positive attitude but you never seemed jet lagged!!

Seriously. I remember sitting at dinner Saturday night thinking that Cynthia looked way more energetic than the rest of us and I knew she barely got any sleep. More like a power nap. She was fine the following morning, too. You know how sometimes your good the day after you don't sleep, but you crash two days later. NOT!

Oh Melissa what a wonderful update. What a great way to spend the afternoon. Drink. Pool. Nap. MK. Dinner. and back to BWV for a beer on the balcony. Perfect!

Love all your pictures! I love the HM queue. It's very cool! I also really like the anchor's away sandwich and I almost never order tuna when I am out. But there is something so good about the sandwich. I had my first one on the KTTK tour and it started a trend. Delish!

It really was a perfect day!! I could do a day like again anytime!

The thing I found interesting about the Anchor's Away Sandwich is that I never have much luck with sandwiches at WDW! But that was delish, you're right!!

You mean you didn't try the creepy clown slide???

Your afternoon sounds perfectly relaxing! Nothing like Main St USA! The balloons always make me smile. :thumbsup2

Isn't the new HM queue cool? I was also amazed at the progress in Fantasyland. Still hard for me to imagine what it's going to look like when done. And can't wrap my head around two castles. Or that there will be a tavern with no adult beverages...but that is another story. ;)

I think ending the day with a beer on your ginormous balcony was a stroke of genius!

No, I decided not to be shot out a clowns mouth! LOL!!!

I was a perfectly relaxing day! I loved it!

I LOVE the new HM queue!!! I can't wait to to see Fantasyland when it's complete! I'm having a hard time with the 2 castle concept as well! Of course, the tavern with no adult beverages is an equally perplexing concept!! Why can't I get a glass of wine?! ;)

I should have had a ginormous beer to match the size of the balcony! LOL!! I really enjoyed sitting there drinking the beer and watching everything going on on the Boardwalk!!

Melissa, your afternoon sounds WONDERFUL! Pool time, a nap, MK time and a beer on the balcony...pretty much sounds like heaven :cloud9:

I've heard it's superrrr hot down in WDW right now...I hope it calms down just a littleeee by next week!

I was an absolutely wonderful day!!!

OMG Kristen! I hope it's not as hot when you go as it was that day!! It was crazy!! I bet it will be nice to escape this nasty, rainy spring we're having!!

Great update, Melissa. It's amazing what an hour nap can do. I'm with you -- love Philharmagic...it's just magical to me.

That nap felt good!! PhilHarMagic is one of my very favorite things!!!

What a fabulous day Melissa!! Love the balloon picture and yes Main Street makes you smile from ear to ear :)
I never made it back over to the HM to see the queue :scared1: well C and I went over maybe on our last full day but MK was crazy crowded and we had to get outta there ;)
You could have had a party on that balcony!! Great place for a cold beer and good practice of drinking for the nights to come :rotfl:

Tracy

MK can be CRAZY sometimes!!! There's always Oct for the HM queue! If only I had that room for a night or 2 when everyone else was there I would have had a party on the balcony!! ;)

Practicing for the nights to come! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: After our dinner at a certain restaurant at a certain hotel I think maybe I should practiced more ;)

I must confess to not "knowing" Melissa and Cynthia as much as the other girls so I really have enjoyed your first few updates and getting to know you some.

Melissa, I hope your kids got the hang of Mom being gone. I went without mine last year and after saying goodbye at the airport, it went surprisingly smooth! Your kids are adorable!!

Cynthia, I love the pre-flight preparations, a little extra booze can't hurt! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear more about your meet!

Thanks Katie!! They did pretty good!! But, as you'll come to find out there was a little bit of drama! ;)

Awww my beloved HM queue...and make no mistake it's mine, I just am a kind sweet person who chooses to share with others because that's what my mother taught me to do LOL!!!! I may have had WAY too much fun in their!!!!

Well, thank you for sharing!!! :lovestruc

Is it very wrong that I love knowing all the inside jokes??? :upsidedow

Can't wait to share with the rest of the class!

First of all, great pictures all around, ladies! :thumbsup2 The Beach Club pictures are making me very excited!

Thanks for that shot of the construction in Fantasyland. I hadn't seen that yet.

Me, neither. We rode Dumbo in February and I swear that castle was not there! Can't wait to check it out in July.

Cynthia, if a red eye were possible, I'd take it. I'm with you...who wants to waste a vacation day travelling? I've always been the one to drive through the night to get where I'm going. We're doing almost the same...our flight is at 6:30 in the morning and we arrive at MCO by 9:30. I think I'm going to take your advice, though, and stop for a good cup of Starbucks before I enter the other world! :rotfl:

More beautiful pictures!!! What a great view from your room!!! I just fell in love over at BCV...I'm really looking forward to actually staying there!!!

You reminded me that I had been up for the royal wedding so I had to go update my post LOL!!!!!

The new Lego creations at the new store are amazing!! I love the Sleeping Beauty one...way too cool to have a Maleficient Dragon Lego statue...I want one for my yard LOL!!!

So you say the daquiri is weak?!?!?!?!? Might be one for me LOL!

You will definitely love staying at BCV!!!

One of those lego creation for the yard would be fabulous! I might take a F&G topiary or two as well!

The daiquiri was weak! If the bartender didn't ask to see my id I would have thought there was no rum at all! You should try it!!

Great updates Melissa!!! Wonderful shots of the HM queue (I hate to admit it but I didn't see it on our trip, :scared1: my one opportunity had a longer wait than I was willing to do at the time ). I didn't even get to see the new lego store and while I wouldn't have gone in, I love seeing what they've "built" with the new legos, very very cool stuff.

That is a bummer about your EOS sandwich. I've never eaten there but smoked bacon can be a bit much, what a drag when you are looking forward to soemthing like that. I love all the solo pool and relaxing time and really love those sorcerer mickey pics. I thought about character pics a few times but the lines were always too long.

 Writers stop.

Sadly I did not watch the royal wedding. That would have been like 1:30 am my time when it started. I couldn't do it. I did tape it, but still haven't watched it. Sad I know. Maybe this weekend.

A second person who didn't get to see the new queue! Oh my!!

The lego creations outside the new store were very cool! I think Buzz and Woody are my fav! The store is much the same as the old store, just bigger and easier to explore!

I will definitely give EOS another try! Just no smoked bacon next time!

I was very much looking forward to meeting Sorcerer Mickey!!

 The Writers Stop is one of my favorite places in WDW!!

I really didn't intend on watching the wedding, but beginning awake I got sucked in!

Beautiful Beach Club pics! :cloud9: Love the dress you're wearing with Sorcerer Mickey. So pretty!

You did a great job picking out treats for your cute kiddos. Fitting them in the return suitcase will be a challenge but you have days before you have to think about that!!!

The Lego store is pretty amazing. That must be someone's dream job - getting paid to create all those displays!!! :)

Thanks! That dress was super comfy and cool!

The kiddos loved their goodies! Fitting them in the suitcase and then dealing with it's weight were definitely challenging! But, a good friend may have given me the idea to use the art of feminine persuasion to deal with the situation! ;)

My alone time, as well as the rest of the trip, were super relaxing and refreshing!

That CM was sooooo annoying!!!

:cloud9:

You will love CHH!! The TSM CM was super annoying!!! What was the deal with him?! IDK!?

Cynthia-- what a long day you had!! I loved how getting the vodka was very important  :thumbsup2 Would have been for me, too!

Jen-- wow, how do you have a reservation and they have no car for you?! That's nuts and stressful! You had a super long day too, I'm sure you slept like a log!

Melissa-- another heavenly day! BCV is my #2 dream resort and I love your pictures! SAB just looks like so much fun :goodvibes

You would LOVE BVC!!! I could totally live at either BCV or BWV!

That dress is super comfy and cool!!!

I'll definitely be trying EOS again!! Maybe a Caprese Sandwich or something!!!

Ahh!!! I was definitely think of you ladies while I was alone!!!

Enjoying all of the updates!

Cynthia, I love your post-flight strategy!

Thanks!

Yes!! There is a new HM queue and new hitch-hiking ghosts!!! It's very, very cool!!!

Me, neither. We rode Dumbo in February and I swear that castle was not there! Can't wait to check it out in July.

It wasn't!!! I was at WDW in Feb and it was just skeleton!!! They're moving really fast!

:rotfl: If you had bought those fish and actually eaten them, I would have to see photographic evidence. They seriously looked DISGUSTING.

That sounds like a challenge! Next year, Mary Ellen...next year.

EDIT: I never logged Kristin out! (nilla)

I love hearing how you all "came together".

It seems like when I try to take a relaxed approach to getting to the airport, I almost miss my plane. :rotfl2:

I have decided I would rather be early and have to wait than to bang my steering wheel and stress the whole way and have to run down the concourse.:lmao:

Wow I am way behind!!! Where do I start....
Love all the pics, and can't wait to see the new Lego displays. We love Buzz and Woody, and the Snow White and dwarfs was awesome.
The Writer's Stop...just heard about this a few months ago (how is it after SO many trips we still find new things!! I love it!!) and can't wait to try it out next month.

I love Sorcerer Mickey too!! He is the cuddliest one of all the Mickeys.

I wish we had red eyes here too!! Maybe we do and I just don't know it!! :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear more!!!

I must confess to not "knowing" Melissa and Cynthia as much as the other girls so I really have enjoyed your first few updates and getting to know you some.
:thumbsup2

Melissa, I hope your kids got the hang of Mom being gone. I went without mine last year and after saying goodbye at the airport, it went surprisingly smooth! Your kids are adorable!!

I don't think they ever quite got the hang of their mom being gone! Let's just say that there were a lot of phone calls between mom and her little munchkins!

Cynthia, I love the pre-flight preparations, a little extra booze can't hurt! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear more about your meet!

A little extra booze can never hurt!!!! :rotfl2:

(EDIT): My day didn't start with the packing of the rental car...it started with the royal wedding...thank you Melissa for the reminder!! I was up at 4am to watch the wedding live!! I had the hugest crush on Prince William when I was in HS so of course I had to watch the wedding!! It was beautiful and Catherine just looked stunning!!!

So if you do the math I was up at 5am EST time for the wedding and finally in bed at 1:30am EST IT WAS A LONG LONG DAY for me!!!

Jen - I still can't believe you got up that early to watch the wedding. I will admit, the wedding was lovely and the music was fabulous. I forgot to mention that when I walked through England on Friday night there were still British flags up everywhere. It looked pretty cool and I was sad to see them gone the next day.

After a quick shower and getting ready it was time to head off to Epcot to meet Mary Ellen!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!! I was so excited to finally see one of the girls!!

Melissa - I love this picture of you. It's so cute!
what a great day you had (again). You really made the park rounds in your first two days (and managed to get in lots of shopping, too! ;))

Yeah - Time to Meet ME!

More beautiful pictures!!! What a great view from your room!!! I just fell in love over at BCV...I'm really looking forward to actually staying there!!!

You reminded me that I had been up for the royal wedding so I had to go update my post LOL!!!!!

M's pictures really are lovely!

You are going to love BCV!!!!!! (and every other place you are staying)

How could you forget about the Royal Wedding???????

Great updates Melissa!!! Wonderful shots of the HM queue (I hate to admit it but I didn't see it on our trip, :scared1: my one opportunity had a longer wait than I was willing to do at the time ). I didn't even get to see the new lego store and while I wouldn't have gone in, I love seeing what they've "built" with the new legos, very very cool stuff.

That's too bad you missed the queue. It was pretty cool. I also missed the new lego store. Granted, no one in my house plays with legos, but still.

That is a bummer about the sandwich. It stinks to look forward to something and then not like the food.

I agree - Writer's stop was so cute.

You did a great job picking out treats for your cute kiddos. Fitting them in the return suitcase will be a challenge but you have days before you have to think about that!!!

I never thought about that. I watched Cynthia struggle with her suitcase, but did anyone see Melissa close hers?????? :rotfl: I don't even have to buy anything and I still can't close my suitcase back up!:rolleyes1

Whoa! So many updates I don't even know what to comment on!:yay:

.

WE really have had an explosion of updates. And you know what that means - its means we will all be uniting soon!!!! :thumbsup2

I agree, that does seem a little strange that the CM kept asking and asking. What part of solo didn't he/she understand? :confused3

Sorry to those of you who had such long arrival days, I know the travel can be really taxing...

I think I am the only one who left at a "normal" time. Jen and Cynthia had flights which cut into sleep time and Melissa, Tracy, and Christine was up at the crack of dawn.

:cloud9:

Great observations! I didn't know Jen had a Prince William crush until see wrote about it.

And those lego shots are fabulous.

BCV really was awesome. I loved it!

Very good beer scouting Cynthia!!! I enjoy a good beer as well....I like most IPA's and really like hefeweizens :thumbsup2 Oh and lambics too. ;)

Tracy

I have a hunch that cynthia has had much experience with beer scouting. Remember her Hawaii pictures? I think there was a lot of beer scouting going on there.

Supercute dress Melissa!! Looks like another fine morning! Love the view and so jealous of your time in DTD:goodvibes

I love that dress and I am also jealous of her time in DTD. I have to say I have never really shopped there by myself and I bet its fun and relazing.

Me neither! :lmao: We'll have to wait til they get to evening fireworks before we can chime in!

You can chime in any time ladies!!!!! I already posted about Illuminations and everyone has arrived or almost arrived, so post away. My next post is going to be breakfast with the 4 of us and then finding you at the ditch! Shocking location!

Enjoying all of the updates!

Cynthia, I love your post-flight strategy!

Thanks!

Trust me - Cynthia did not seem like she had been up all night. You never would have known she took the red eye. She's a pro.

One of my favorites so far Mary Ellen!

D4D

Thanks Jen. Glad you like it!

Ooh! Ahh! I love Illuminations. You see different things depending on where you are on the lagoon and pics are always different. At MK, there are a few prime locations for pics and everything else is so-so.

I actually saw Illuminations three times this trip, so I will have to agree with you on that. It does look different . Same show, different perspective.

WHAT! There's a new HM que and an improved hitching-hiking ghost experience? SCORE! Love the pics you took of it! Cant wait to see it in person.

It's pretty cool. You will really like it. I'm sure!

I'd like to say I'm all caught up, but I've just flipped through the pages looking at pics and picking up snippets of story. I have to update my PTR; almost 3 months away!

D4D

Yes - you do - Jen. I've checked it a few times, but no new updates, so get to work!!!!!

Is it very wrong that I love knowing all the inside jokes??? :upsidedow

Can't wait to share with the rest of the class!

Not wrong at all! You were the keeper of all the one liners so throw them in where appropriate.

First of all, great pictures all around, ladies! :thumbsup2 The Beach Club pictures are making me very excited!

Thanks! Stay tuned, we have plenty more pictures. I have tons from Epcot and I want to show you almost all of them. :)

Me, neither. We rode Dumbo in February and I swear that castle was not there! Can't wait to check it out in July.

I can't wait to see it when its all done. I think its going to be really amazing. I'm not even sure when its due to open. December, maybe???

Cynthia, if a red eye were possible, I'd take it. I'm with you...who wants to waste a vacation day travelling? I've always been the one to drive through the night to get where I'm going. We're doing almost the same...our flight is at 6:30 in the morning and we arrive at MCO by 9:30. I think I'm going to take your advice, though, and stop for a good cup of Starbucks before I enter the other world! :rotfl:

Coffee really helps with reentry, doesn't it? :thumbsup2

That sounds like a challenge! Next year, Mary Ellen...next year.

EDIT: I never logged Kristin out! (nilla)

I'm holding you to that!

Someone at work brought in dried seaweed snacks from Tracer Joes, I tried one, but I thought it was disgusting. It tasted like fish. Yuck!

Hey - did you ever update????? You said you were going to. I'll be checking soon.

I love hearing how you all "came together".

And Tracy and Cynthia still haven't arrived yet. They were still home packing. :rotfl: Or so they say! :rotfl:

It seems like when I try to take a relaxed approach to getting to the airport, I almost miss my plane. :rotfl2:

I have decided I would rather be early and have to wait than to bang my steering wheel and stress the whole way and have to run down the concourse.:lmao:

There is nothing good about stressing over getting to the airport. In reality, I would much rather be there early instead of running late. However, I never really care as much on the way home. I'm still waiting to miss a flight so I can get an extra day! :rolleyes1

Wow I am way behind!!! Where do I start....

That's cause we just had an explosion of 4 updates over the past 24 hours. the girls are on a roll!!!!!

They are really great displays. I really enjoyed Melissa's pictures. Very cool!

The Writer's stop is very cool also. Its definitely a hidden treasure!

it to try it out next month.

I love Sorcerer Mickey too!! He is the cuddliest one of all the Mickeys.

He is my fav, too. I have Sorcerer Mickey Christmas ornaments that I love. I wish I could find more, more, MORE!

I wish we had red eyes here too!! Maybe we do and I just don't know it!! :rotfl:
