How do you think they do the postcard drawings?

I posted in the sticky thread that I got three pairs of Mickey ears yesterday, one for each member of my family. That didn't seem very random to me. Have you received many prizes in one day? Did everyone in your family get something (if you sent cards for each one), or only one or two people? Could they be reading these cards and trying to ensure a whole family gets prizes if they can? Did they really randomly pick all three of my family on the same day for the same prize? Thoughts? I also think maybe they do these postcard drawings in "batches". It seems like like there are a lot of winners this week, like they just did a big drawing and will wait a little while before doing another. More thoughts?

I send in 6 cards each time I send them and only one of us got anything, as of yet anyways.

Just received my first mickey ears today!:) I sent 2 cards a day for about two months now. Why can't it be DVC?!?:headache:

The way I heard it, they draw one postcard for each day, but they do it all on one day of the month. So picture if you will, some 20 something buckets/ barrels/ dumpsters (lol) of postcards for an entire months worth of mailings. Then they just dip into each days container and grab a postcard. So the prizes for an entire month get mailed out in a day or two. So your family were so very blessed to each get a postcard pulled from a diff days container.

Personally I thinkthey have data entry operators who sit there everyday and enter the information in off the post cards that are sent in. They probably include the post mark date so the computer can double check to make sure a name only gets entered one time per day. Then I believe someone said that the names are drawn on the 20th of each month and then prized mailed out.

I've read post where people have decorated their post cards or highlighted the edges to try and make them stand out more and while I'm sure they are adorable I don't really think it makes a difference. Sorry if I offended anybody, I didn't mean to. :hippie:

I'm curious to see what they do with all the mailed in post cards after the drawing. Do they just get tossed out after the 20th of each month? I wonder how many entries/post cards they've received so far.

I sent my postcards more than a month ago and I just won the other day. I have a hard time believing they keep track of the one per day rule or which day the postcards came in. I think they all go in a huge pile and they pick out of it on certain days.

Hmmm. I have been sending in 5 postcards a day for only about 10 days. I fear my mail lady picked up from my box twice today, so my 'Monday' cards went out today! Maybe if I am lucky it will be late enough in the day that they won't get stamped tonight along with my 'Saturday' set.

I told myself I'll pop for another 100 after the postage rates go up. It would be such a riot just to get the ears or lanyard for a little pre trip hype. :goodvibes Of course, I am rather over-hyped compared to the rest of my family.

I might slow down the number per day with the next batch though.
