How do you share Memory Maker?

I know this has probably been talked about a million times, but I can't find the info now!

Another family that we're friendly with is heading down about the same time we are--arriving a couple days before we do and we're staying a couple days after they leave. Some days we're doing stuff together; some days we doing our own thing.

I was thinking about us all sharing a Memory Maker account, but totally lost as to how to do this. Can someone take me through baby steps???

Right now we each have our own MDE accounts, not linked or anything. Do we need to link them somehow? And then once they're linked can we actually see each other's schedules or even make changes to ADRs and FPs? I'd hate to do something by accident!!! And I don't know that I necessarily want anyone else to have access to my ADRS/FPs either! Not that anyone would do something on purpose but accidents happen!

Or is there a way to just link the actual Memory Maker portion? Then I assume afterwards we'd all be able to see each other's pictures, correct? But is there a way for two of us to access the Memory Maker account and select photos, change sizes, add borders, etc.? Or is that just one person that can do it? Then do you need a way to share photos?

Since you are traveling together, one person would purchase memory maker and invite the other person to "plan with you" from the My Disney Experience tab. You would need to link accounts under Friends and Family. On the person who did NOT purchase MemoryMaker, make sure that they have clicked so that the buyer can see and purchase their photos. We will sometimes do this when we travel with the grandparents if they are on their own reservation. Have a great trip!

I'm very interested in this question as well. When you link accounts, can that person see all your fast pass selections? Can they change any of your reservations? How many people are allowed to edit the pictures?

I'm linked in MDE with my sister and she purchased MM, so when wr have our pictures taken do we have to carry a seperate card or will it lknk with our magic bands?

Ok,
If you're traveling with others, only one of you has to buy the MM in order for you both to be able to have all pictures taken throughout the parks (even when you are doing separate activities) to be included.

You need to "invite to plan and share" through your MDE account.

Inviting to plan and share will send an email to the other parties that they need to accept.

Then you'll be listed in each others' MDE Friends and Family list. You'll EACH have to click on their name(s) and choose the setting "Jane can view and purchase my photos", "Bob can view and purchase my photos" (Jane does it in her MDE and Bob also has to do it in his MDE)

As far as I know, being on each others' Friends and Family list DOES allow them to view and change your FP reservations. I am not aware of a way to share MM without allowing them to view your hotel, ADRs, FPs. In my extended family, I just made sure they were aware it was possible to change others' plans, so it's not okay to go clicking around carelessly in MDE!

You do not need to carry a card - the magic bands of everyone in both parties will capture everyone's on-ride photos and everyone's magic bands can be scanned by photographers taking other posed shots.

When the trip is over, *only the person who purchased the MM can edit and add borders and stickers to all the photos and download them*. Anyone can edit through their own account, but when a non-purchaser gets to the download step, they'll be asked to pay. All those edits will be a waste of time because the purchaser will not see them when logged into their own account. You must either get together to let each person do their edits; share your password so everyone can do the edits themselves in your account; or do the edits for them. You can then burn CDs for everyone or put the pictures in an online sharing site, make a thumb drive for them, etc.

Be sure not to leave the editing and download too long, because the system is slow so it takes a while and your pictures "expire" 45 days after each was taken.

Thank you for all the details!!! Just one follow-up question. I did "invite" our friends to plan and share our accounts. It's a family of four, all linked in their own account, and using the family e-mail. They accepted my invite. But I'm only seeing the dad's information on my page now--he's the one listed on their account. Does that automatically link everyone in their family? In other words, if the mom from that family and one child goes on a ride without dad or anyone from my family, will they still get a photo?

I know, that's clear as mud but not sure how else to explain it!

BTW--I can now see all their ADRs, but it doesn't allow me to change them. I just see "Reservation made by Mr. X". But I can't actually access the ADR. Just in case others were worried about that! I wonder if that will be the same for FPs. We haven't reached our date for those yet.

I called tech support and added my sister as my friend. I had them set it up so that I can made fast passes for her, but she cannot for me. I have access to her account and when I logged on she does not have my family to change our fast passes. So you can set it up so Memory Maker is shared, but the other family cannot change your fast passes etc. When you call get an experienced person. The one man was fantastic.

You will NOT be able to change anything in each other's accounts unless you call Disney to specifically set it up that way. You can simply see what the other one has planned and even then, there is a setting called something like "let Person A see only plans that they are included in" and voila, they don't see your stuff anymore.
