How do YOU see them?

I would be interested to know how you folks feel about the Greeters you come across in the parks. I'm on a committee to gather new ideas for the roll of the Greeter and would like your input, as guests, to bring to that committee.

Let me know your experiences with Greeters in general. whether good, bad, or indifferent. What do you expect from a Greeter and was that expectation met?

How do you feel, as a guest, the Greeter role could be improved or changed to further help you as an individual or family?

Your replies and suggestions will be brought to that committee.

Many thanks.

it really doesn't bother me, as a matter of fact it is a nice touch that just adds to the good feel of being in Disney :D

I think its a good idea to have someone saying I'm glad you're here. People pay a lot of money to get in and little things like that add to the experience.

Thank you for your replies. I certainly appreciate it and will bring your comments to our committee meeting at Epcot the end of this week.

Anyone else care to comment on how the Greeters at the Attractions, stores or exhibits could better serve you or do things differently?

Again, many thanks for your input.

I like it when the Greeters just greet my kids (instead of just me).:) It makes them feel special.:)

This is regarding the greeters at MK by the bakery. Sometimes they are great and stop you for a sticker but sometimes I have to ask for a sticker and I get a weird look. I'm not sure if the fact that we don't have children makes a difference or not.

I like the greeters a lot. I think they add a special touch. Hmmm, the "movie star" ones at MGM on early entry morning. :earseek: When you're half asleep, and someone is in your face, it can be a little rattling! :p I like the calm, "How are you this morning?" greeters. :)

I think they are wonderful... I have a funny story about the greeters in Epcot..

Back in 2000, on our last trip.. we got to Epcot early. There were people dressed in native costume saying hello, good morning to all the guests.. One was a beautiful young girl in traditional Chinese costume..

She stopped bowed slightly and said hello to us.. my daughter (barely 3 ) says really loud.. "HI MULAN!"

The greeter heard this, and did giggle...

I think the greeter role does set it apart from other parks. I love the fact that there is a greeter at the beginning of an atrraction/ride, and they do have the "stick". Having children just at minimum height range.. (54 inches for my son exactly), it is a good thing to see.

Greeters are cool! I agree w/ Browneyes about the kids. They always feel so special when they are included..even better when said Hello to B4 Mom and Dad! Also, I feel more secure knowing that they are pretty close by in case of emergency/lost kids kinda thing. It puts a much more personalized feel to the thrill of WDW. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Thank you all so much again for your positive comments. They will be heard by our committee at Epcot.

We hope to further enhance the role of the Greeters at each park and you all have indicated we have a terrific base on which to build.

We appreciate and value your input.
