How do you scrap 8x11's?

I know I posted this in the general chat area but I thought I would probably get more answers over here.

I'm having trouble scrapbooking my 8x11 photos. (I scrap on 12x12 paper) I did do a few pages this morning of our Disney Cruise that we took this past April. I think those came out just OKAY but I'm really having trouble scrapping our formal pictures. I don't know which papers to use, I don't know what types of embellishments to use. I'm stuck. Have any of you scrapped 8x11's? If so, can ya share? And maybe even give me some ideas on doing the formal pics? Thanks so much.

Hi there! That's a tough question because your 11inch length is taking up almost the whole 12 inch paper. Scrapping that size only gives you less than 4 inches of width to play with. I don't think I've ever scrapped that size of a picture. If I did, I guess I would put the photo off to the right or left side, with maybe a 1/2 inch border of your back ground paper showing, and then do some ribbon, flowers or buttons in a swirly type pattern along the free edge of your paper. Check out some of the layouts on the posters who have links in their signatures to get some ideas.

Do you have a scanner? Maybe scan the 8 1/2 by 11 in and make it smaller, then print it out, so you have more room to work with.
