I've just come up with an interesting idea to fund my next trip to the world.
I'm collecting water bottles. New York has just passed a 5 cent deposit on water bottles. The bottles still have to have the bar code on them for the machine to take them.
Now here is the funny part. I work in high school. The high school kids leave behind water bottles everywhere. They take one sip and leave the bottle on the desks, on the tables, on the floor. I can take in about 10 to 30 bottles per day. I make a dollar per day for every 20 bottles I collect. There are 180 school days. Do the math.
That a couple of park passes. Or maybe meals. That could be a night's stay a value resort. Whoo hoo.
Wish me luck

Great idea....It really does add up....here's two different stories....

The church group that I travelled with to South America for a Habitat Global Village Build were able to raise $1000 by returning bottles in just 6 months.

Growing up, my father embarassed me many times by picking up returnable bottles when out for walks or even stopping the car and getting out and picking them up, he invested the money over the years and thankfully it paid a big portion of my Univerisity.....Now I'm picking them up for my kids and embarassing them:)

I am doing the same thing with cans. I work at stadium in the same. I collect cans, caps and other. I get laugh at by my fellow in employees. We going on a trip. I am one laughing.

I also doing rewards programs too.
