How do you request a site?

Very carefully, :rotfl2:

I'm sorry, couldnt resist.

Are you asking for a phone number , fax number, or asking about site info or what ?

This is the fax request I copied from quite some time ago:

The fax# is:407-824-3508

Date

TO: Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground Site Assigner

FROM: Name
Address

SUBJECT: Site Request for Month xx - xx

RE: Reservation # xxxxxxxx

I am really looking forward to my stay at the Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground and am writing about campsite requests. I do understand that these are only requests and cannot be guaranteed.

If possible, I would like a site in Loop xxxx or Loop xxxx with a site that will accomodate the following: (list your "stuff" here) and near (whatever you want to be near).

Thanks so much for your help, and once again I’m really looking forward to my visit to Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground.

If you have any questions, I can be reached at xxx-xxx-xxxx or by email at xxx@xxx.xxx

Sincerely

Just a tip - don't send it more than 4-5 days before you're checking in. That seems to be the time frame for making sure it actually gets to the person assigning sites. Earlier doesn't seem to help, although we usually have our request noted on our reservation too.

Also - remembering this is just a request and there aren't any guarantees - it seems to work best to put in your request what it is that you want/need vs specific site requests, i.e., near comfort station, dog walk, bus, etc. If you're checking in on a busy day, and limit them to just one or 2 site numbers specifically, they may not be able to accommodate you. On the other hand, if you tell them what "type" of site/loop you want, they're more likely to be able to find something that will work for you.

I followed the instructions already laid out in this thread and got the exact site I requested back in September and was even able to check in at 7:30am on my day of arrival (although I dont think the site request had anything to do with that). Keep in mind that if you get there early enough and they give you a site you arent happy with, you can request to be moved to a different site (I did this back in May). Good luck, I hope you get what you request also.
