Oh, don't worry too much about that, LOL--the people that work on those phone lines will usually mess up the pronounciations waaaayyyy worse than you will! Trust me, I have had it happen many many times. (and really, it does not matter at all as long as you both know you are booking the right one!) Sometimes they will insist on "their" pronounciation being the right one, too, LOL. (even when it's not)
Thanks for being brave enough to speak up, and now that you've opened up the subject for discussion.............. anyone mind pronouncing Citrico's and Narcoosees for me. I'm always afraid I'm mispronouncing them.
See, the ones I had trouble with were Le Cellier (Luh Sell-EE-Ay) and Akershus (Ock-ers-HOOS). I searched the net to figure it out. I kind of had a guess about Le Cellier, but Akershus is HARD! It looks like Ak-er-Shus. You'd think they'd come up with some fairly easy to pronounce names!
I wasn't sure about this one either. I didn't ask because I'm torn between Teppan Edo (is this pronounced E do or E dough, I wonder?) and Le Cellier, which I just translate into english and refer to it as "The Cellar" because for some reason when I say Luh-Sell-EE-Ay it just sounds stupid.
actually, if you search the DIS you will find that there are conflicting reports on how to say Le Cellier, even from native french speakers.
Some say Luh Sell-EE-Ay but some say Luh sell-yay. May be a dialect kind of thing, I don't remember, just that both are spoken. (and either one is fine for Disney purposes!)
I just looked at the menu for Tutto Italia and I can't pronounce the names of half of the dishes They should have a seperate menu with the dishes spelled phonetically too.
