How do you pre-order Photopass CD for $99?

Can someone refresh my memory about how long the pictures stay on the photopass site? I was thinking about preordering a CD and my trip is from 9/25-30.

A co-working is going from 11/3-9. If I wait a week or so after returning can they then enter their pictures onto my account also so that I can share the CD with them?

I couldn't remember if it was 30 days or 60 days or if the count started from when they were taken or when they were put on the site???

Not even sure if I'm going to offer that idea up to them, just thinking about it at this point.

Dont buy your CD at the park! go home so you can take one picture from the park and crop it a bunch of ways and add boarders and each time you make it a new picture for your CD. I started with about 150 pictures and ended with well over 1000. I got 6 CD's for 99.00 and I will be doing it again! Soooo worth it!

someone wsa nice enough somewhere on these boards to click on a link which I printed out the 26 some pages on how this photopass works. They also said where to go where they actually add like Tinker Bell and stitch etc into your pictures. So how does this work? You go that area it describes and then what you ask you wanted these added features put on? Just want to make sure I have done this. I have seen examples of this and it would be awsome to have some of these pictures of them. thanks everyone for all of your useful information.

The CD will contain all of the pics that are in your account at the time it's burned, so as long as you can get the pics from both trips into the account at the same time when you finalize the CD order, they will all be on the CD.

PhotoPass pics will stay in the system for up to 30 days without being claimed (i.e. entered into an account) after they are taken. So the pics you get taken on 9/25 will expire on 10/25, the pics taken on 9/26 will expire on 10/26, et cetera. This means that you will have to enter the PhotoPass card from your Trip 1 into your account before 10/25 so none of the pics expire.

When you enter the PhotoPass card from Trip 1 into your PhotoPass account, the pics are considered "claimed", and the countdown for ALL of the pics on that card resets to 30 days. If you enter the card from Trip 1 into your account on 10/24, ALL of the pics on that card will then reset to 30 days, and will be available in your PhotoPass account until 11/23. This will give you a window of time to enter the pics from Trip 2 before the pics from Trip 1 expire, and finalize your CD order.

When your coworker gets home from Trip 2, add the PhotoPass card from Trip 2 to your account and make any modifications to the pics that you want (i.e. add borders or signatures or crop).

The CD will contain all of the PhotoPass pics in your account at the time it's burned, so if you finalize the CD order before the pics from Trip 1 expire on 11/23, it will have the pics from both trips on it.

FYI - Be sure to make note of the numbers of both of your PhotoPass cards and your coworkers cards, in a safe place where they won't get lost. This is especially important for the card from Trip 1, since you'll be hanging onto it for a few weeks before entering into your account. You wouldn't want to lose it! Make note of the card number as soon as you get it at WDW; take a digital pic of the back with your own camera, or write the number in your autograph book, or note it on your cell phone, or write it down on a slip of paper and put it in your wallet with an important card like your license or ATM card.

TIMELINE:
9/25-9/30 - Trip 1

10/24 - Add pics from Trip 1 to your account before they expire, add borders and graphics and do any cropping. Expiration of pics from Trip 1 will reset to 11/23

11/3-11/9
- Trip 2

11/10
- Add Add pics from Trip 2 to your account before they expire, add borders and graphics and do any cropping. Expiration of pics from Trip 2 will reset to 12/9

11/22 (OR EARLIER)
- Finalize CD order before pics from Trip 1 expire

11/23
- Pics from Trip 1, added to your account on 10/24, will expire and be deleted from account.

12/9 - Pics from Trip 2, added to your account on 11/10, will expire and be deleted from account.

I wanted to add one tip about pictures from restaurants. If you purchase the photo package (or if it is included free with the meal), you can add those pictures to your photopass account. And the best part is you don't have to go to the Photopass counter in the park to have it done. The largest picture in the package will have a code printed at the top. It starts with EVNT. (Sometimes they'll give you the code printed on a little receipt with your pictures. It's the same number that's on the top corner of your picture.) Enter that code on your photopass account (just like you would the number from your photopass card) and your restaurant pictures will be added to your account. BTW, it adds all the poses that they took at the restaurant...not just the pose you bought!

Thanks for all the useful info. We are going after xmas, and I'm definitely going to be getting the photopass!

cool i did not know that. We took our photos to a booth, and waited in line to get them added. That is great to know.

Call us crazy, but on arrival day, DH will head over to one of the waterparks to get a few photopasses. BB & TL have the rubberband/wristbands attached to the tiny cards, so we can wear them as bracelets for our whole trip. It's much easier than having to dig for the regular cards. (This is only worth it if you pay for the Waterpark Fun & More option!! Otherwise, you'd have to pay admission to get in JUST for the wristbands!)

When we order the photopass, we have all the photographers take AS MANY photos as they can stand. Unfortunately, all photographers aren't created equally! So, out of 20 shots in front of the castle, maybe 4 are excellent. If you settle for 2 or 3, then you run the risk of having NONE turn out good. :sad2:

Also, I like to "check" my photopasses each day before I leave the park. This is helpful, in case the photographer accidentally added your pics to someone else's pass (& vice-versa.)

There is a simple alternative to the wrist coile PhotoPass cards that will work for at least half of all DISers - pin lanyards throughout the parks can be found with clear vinyl pouches on the ends for carrying KTTW cards, park passes, FP slips, or PhotoPass cards. If you have a pin lanyard, get one of the vinyl pouches for it and keep your PhotoPass card in the pouch; it will be easily and conveniently available at all times.

They gave us the bracelet one this year in Toontown... maybe save yourself a trip?

Thanks, WillCAD! I thought about that, but I just don't like having stuff hanging around my neck when I'm hot. My kiddos, on the other hand, collect pins, so they are ALL ABOUT the lanyards! I'll stick with my little bracelets. ;)

ABSOLUTELY!!!! That would be wonderful! (See, I said you'd call us crazy!) :rotfl:

thanks for the tips and links! I was having trouble finding it on my own on the photopass site.

For those who haven't gotten a cd full of pics before, here's a little tip: it gets old to just have one picture after another of your family posing politely in front of some WDW thing. Mix it up a little. Get silly. Try for a ton of different pictures - you pay the same no matter how many you get. Look scared in front of ToT, play air guitar in front of RRC, make fish faces outside of Nemo and friends, etc, etc.

One of our favorites is our group all holding hands, jumping off the fountain in Morrocco. It took about ten tries to get it just right, but the photopass guy was very patient. When we added special effects online, it looks like Tink has pixie dusted us to fly.

Just wanted to bump this up in case anyone is looking for the link to pre order. I had to google to find it. lol
It's still good.
:goodvibes

This thread may have bad information in it though (I haven't read it) because they have changed numerous things about Photopass and ordering it (and then changed some things back) since the original thread was started in 2007. So reader beware.

I also heard that if you go to WDW and then DLR within the 30 days, you can pay the DLR price for the photopass CD ($60) and get WDW and DLR pics on the CD.

Is this correct?
