We are first timers, staying at POFQ. We have planned two park days in a row, followed by a "pool day". On our pool day I thought we would have a relaxing breakfast buffet and made ressies at Cape May. (It it the three of us, DD is 7). The CM asked if we were going to Epcot that day, since Cape May is close to Epcot and suggested picking your parks, then the restaraunts to go with them. It would take us about 45 min to get to Cape May (not renting a car). What would you do? Can you suggest a breakfast buffet closer?

Hi Rosey1,

You did not say when you would be at the "World". If it's during the hot summer months you may want to include some pool time during the hot midday hours. I do exactly as the CM suggested. I start with the park and then look at the available dining. Unless there was some thing you definitely wanted to do. There are a lot of cool Character breakfastes (did I spell that right. :teacher: ) inside the park. This could cut down on travel time, since once you eat your already in the park. This way you won't have to go to another resort to eat and then catch transportation to a park. Unfortunately POFQ is not close to a park but rather Downtown Disney (but it is a fabulous resort, you'll love it.) Two good ones, that my sons love are Donalds Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom and The breakfast buffet at the Crystal palace in the Magic Kingdom. Chez Mickey in the contemporary is really nice and you can pick up the monorail to the MK right in the resort. I've heard rumors that starting May, there will be a character breakfast in MGM so if you are going after then check into that.

send me a email if you have any specific questions and I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice here.
Have fun :sunny:

Why not do a princess breakfast as your dd is 7. :)

It would be quicker to catch a bus from your resort to a park than to go from your resort to another resort, which can de lenghty.
So my suggestion is to make an adr for 9ish at princess storybook breakfast in Norway world showcase. Your dd would love it there is a good selection of princesses here. After breakfast you could catch a bus straight back to your resort or you could stroll around world showcase for a bit and head back to your resort about 12ish...this then gives you a lovely long pool afternoon /evening.

And why not book a carriage ride at your resort for the evening...this would be lovely and relaxing. :cheer2:

We always do a Char Breakfast on our non-park day & normally Cape May around 10 so all the people rushing to the parks are gone. We have found these to be to the more relaxing way to do a CB we are not worrying about getting to the parks. And we have done it when staying at POFQ just grab the first bus you see & then transfer from that park to the Beach Club. Then after we ate we took the bus to MK-it was the first one that came then caught the bus back to POFQ. And hung by the pool.

I always plan based on parks then close restaurants. CMC is good for a late breakfast too on your Epcot day. They serve until 12:00.

The hard part getting from POFQ is going to a park & getting a bus/boat to BC. Alot of your down day will be wasted in travel. I enjoyed the CMC breakfast but I wouldn't travel 90 minutes to eat there.

We picked our restaraunts first, then we looked at the park hours for each day we were going to be at Disney and matched the restaraunts to a day we were going to be at a close park. The only day that is slightly off is our 4th day there when we are planning a relaxing day at the hotel, but our evening meal will be at a different resort then we are staying at (mainly because Jiko didn't work during that day due to their signature dining thing). Other then that we mainly matched the restaurants to where we were planning on going that day.

On your non-park day (I always plan one of these days in the middle of our trip), hop a bus to MK, then ride the monorail (so fun in and of itself! Ask to sit in the front of the car!) over to the Poly for the 'Ohana character breakfast. Now this used to be a great place, with low crowds and Mickey, but I'm not sure it hasn't become more crowded now that Stich is one of the characters.

When you are done you can jump back on the monorail, head back to MK and pick up a bus back to POFQ, or you could take a Poly bus to Downtown Disney (do a little shopping) and pick up the boat back to POFQ (that'd be my choice!).
