Just wondering, since the surge of Debiting everywhere in the past 5 years - how do you pay for things?

I keep maybe $10 in cash on me to spend on my morning coffee each week - I debit anything over $10...(and if I need something under $10, I buy something else to get it up there). I dont' even think about 'cash' anymore...it means nothing to me oddly enough.

Oh - and having my car payment debited from my checking account each week almost makes me feel like I'm not paying for it at all...since I'm not sitting there writing out the check!

Cash/debit.. I personally don't believe in credit cards..;)

Some things I use credit for, but always pay it off at the end of the month. Mostly cash or debit, sometimes check.

I pay for almost everything with a credit card, then pay the cc off each month. Why not earn AMEX rewards or Disney rewards for the stuff I'm going to be buying anyway? I mean, I'm spending the money either way...groceries, cell phone pmt, etc...so why not get an additional benefit.

(You just can't spend the cash, if you've saved it to pay off the credit card...that can be the hard part. :))

mostly debit/credit. DH & I never carry cash

I'm a check writer. I'd have a hard time keeping track if I used a debit card. I have the duplicate checks so it doesn't matter how lazy I am--I have a copy of it right there!

We use mostly a debit card for everything out and about like groceries, Wal-Mart, the mall etc.

I still use checks to pay our bills though.

I carry very little cash, $20 at the most because this town just isn't safe!

I had to go get a $2,000 cashiers check this morning and I was terrified even walking around with that check.

Almost everything with credit.....Disney... to rack up the bonus.
And I'm getting some good ones lately
It gets paid off in full every month though.

I checked credit card, because I use it for everything. However, I pay it in full each month, so I don't carry a balance.

I try to use cash, call me old fashioned, but I was raised to try not to charge anything, just a bad habit to get into. I have one of those fathers who lectures, to this day, how America uses tomorrow's money to pay for today's luxuries, blah blah blah...some of his habits rubbed off on me.

I debit fairly often at school though. I normally deposit all my checks when I get them at the ATM, so sometimes instead of withdrawing money I just wind up swiping the card.

I try to avoid using credit card, but I do occasionally.

Wow... 54 votes, and I was the first check writer!

We have two accounts, one we use our debit card with and the other we write checks out of. But I personally write more checks.

I mostly use cash, but with some things (larger), I use the parent's credit card and give them the cash.

Credit card almost always. I feel safer with it and I just pay it off at the end of the month anyway. My only other bill I have is done as a direct withdrawl from my bank account... all else go on my plastic ;) I will carry some cash now and then but I rarely have more than $40 or so on me.

We use reward cc and pay in full. I charge everything possible and put all monthly bills on cc that I can.

credit card, paid in full each month - frequent flier miles!

It also gives me a great written record of what I have spent. At the end of the month I can go through the bill, purge some receipts, and still have a record of amounts spent. I also love the end of the year breakdown some companies send.

We try and pay cash for almost everything I find it easier then I can say I have x number of dollars to spend and I don't have to check my account balance very often.

More often than not it's cash. Some bills we'll pay by credit card tho::yes::
