How do you organize your autograph cards?

I am making autograph cards to take for my kids. I plan on taking a small clipboard as well. My question is about organizing the cards.

Do most of you just do them alphabetically in a rubber band or has anyone tried putting them in a small accordion folder that is already slotted alphabetically? :confused3

I have two girls so I have two sets of cards. I just read one post and she said it was a pain to juggle them! But I really want both to have their own.Any advice from someone who has done it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...princess:

I just had a stack of blank cards and I put about 10 in a stack on the clipboards. When someone signed I just put that one in the back of the stack. During breaks like lunch I put the used ones in a ziploc bag and reloaded the clipboard. If you don't mind using one color pen tie the pen to the clipboard with a long piece of ribbon. I had the click sharpies and they were in the bag with the tags.

I was doing 4 clipboards and had no problems. I would suggest having 2 clipboards. Are the girls old enough for them to handle their own clipboards once you get in line?

we just did this last month. we used colored tags with a binder ring. i bought the rings at staples. they came in a pack of like 10 maybe? it worked out great for us. when we got in line we would get out the color that matched the character and put it on the clip board. by the time it was our turn, we were good to go. then as we walked away i took it off the board and into a zip lock bag. lots of people commented on it too! really, i could not be more pleased with how the whole thing worked.
hope this helps!

My girls will be 5 1/2 and almost 7 so they can handle carrying their own clipboards over to the characters. I just finished the front side of their boards last night.

Good ideas! Thanks!:thumbsup2

What size were the tags you used? Did you make them yourself? I was thinking of doing the same type of thing. It sounds like a great project. Did you then decorate the tags when you got home? I don't know if I should put the characters on them before or after the trip????? Any ideas???

i did make mine with the sizzix machine. the one with the rounded top. i am going to put them in our disney scrapbook with the pic of my son with that character. i might embellish them i'm not sure yet.

I did 4x4 tags, most of the characters had no problem with the exception of Eeyore, his nose got in the way. Next time I think I would do 4x5 or 5x6, or 5 1/2 cut with my Cricut die cut machine.

I cut the last tags out by hand, I took a 12 x 12 sheet of off-white cardstock and just cut 4 x4 square tags.

I too have used the 4X4 method of colored card stock held together with a big binder clip I borrowed from work and we had a clipboard to attach it to when we got up to the characters - however we only got about 6 autographs that trip so i didnt' have many to put in our scrapbook LOL

I'm thinking about doing this when we go to DLP - then if DS(7) decides he's not going to ask for autographs (sometimes its difficult getting him even to pose for photos!) then i can just recycle the cardstock! It is a bit of a scrum getting autographs in DLP as the characters don't have handlers, so we can just bring the clipboards to character dining sessions :goodvibes

I just wanted to share what I ended up making the NIGHT before we left!! lol
I used modge podge and I'm not sure I really like the results of it, or it could of been because I was rushing...

I decided to use white cardstock cut into 4x6 for the autographs, that way they would match with any page I decided to put together. and oh, my red ribbons fell off sometime during the trip. I had my clipboard in a big ziploc bag the whole time (see as it was raining unexpectedly at times) I would simply put the used cards towards the back of the stack and each night take them out..in case I lost the clipboard for some reason. It worked out well for me & the characters. :thumbsup2

I think Minnie was the only one who actually noticed the clipboard..lol she pointed at her sticker and gave a thumbs up...

thanks for letting me share :goodvibes

very nice rndisneylover! i think it looks great. this was one of my favorite parts of our trip. lots of the characters made a reference to it. actually goofy and pluto both signed our board after they signed there tags! my son loved handing it to them to have them sign their tags.
thanks for sharing your pics with us!

I've got to do that for our trip :goodvibes You've persuaded me:thumbsup2

what is modgepodge? I've not seen it over ehre and if its a squichy bottle I worry about getting it shipped:scared1:

I put mine in alphabetical order so I could flip through and find the characters quickly - I stuck them in a hardbacked journal before I went - but I think having them loose would be a better idea - then it would be easier to scrap them/put them in a photo album with the pictures.
