HI!
How do you order groceries from Disney? Can you set this up in advance of your arrival?

Thanks!

You can't order groceries from Disney. You can use one of the grocery delivery companies.

wegoshop.com
gardengrocer.com

These 2 are very popular on the DIS but there are others.

We use wegoshop.com to order groceries. Amy will deliver to your resort, and yes you need to set it up with her before your arrive.

You can use Mickeyshopper.com to order groceries too. You tell them what day you want the groceries delivered and they will have them there waiting on you.

Definitely check out the sticky at the top of the page regarding shipping to your resort. If you are ordering from wegoshop.com, etc. they will know the locations of the resorts.

If you decide to use something like Target or Amazon, then you need to have the specific address of the resort and use the shipping service as shown so it will go to the resort and not a warehouse.

We opted not to order but took a taxi from POR to the nearest Winn Dixie, cost about $14 one way from POR and we spent about 1/2 hour in Winn Dixie and got everything we needed (the taxi guy we had even came back after a 1/2 hour and got us, not even charging for the wait time, he went and got dinner for himself). We wanted to see what we were buying and pick out specific items. Only drawback was I had to get a Winn Dixie card (kinda like a dillons card) to get certain prices. Too bad we don't have a Winn Dixie in Kansas.

Would it be worth it to get 4-5 lbs of apples, a bunch of bananas and a 24 pack of water?

Your delivery fee is going to be kind of a large percentage of an order that small, but it is probably still cheaper than buying individual fruit and water in the parks. You probably want to crunch the numbers ahead of time to be sure.

If you are staying in a DVC resort, you can order groceries through the DVC website.

I wouldn't think so. Ship the water through Staples or Costco and just pick up some fruit at QS for the room. Taxi fees or delivery charges and tips would eat up any savings for an order that small.

Whole fruit is usually pretty cheap, under $1.50 per piece

I think you can order stuff from Disney somehow. My father-in-law showed me a picture of price lists that were in his cabin room last year. Anyone have any insight on this?

DVC members can order groceries fromDisney through grocery lists available on the DVC member website.

Anyone know an approximate cost of a taxi from CBR to Walmart? Or maybe I have read it is better to take one from DTD? I too would like to see what I am getting! I am wondering if they delivery charge would be similar to a taxi ride.

On the transportation board, there is a sticky at the top of the page regarding alternate transportation and there is a fare finder for taxis from point a to point b.

You may be referring to the THV, which is part of DVC.

I personally would rather take a taxi (which we did), so I can "see" :3dglasses
what I am buying for my money. (side note six pack of beer at resort was $16, Winn Dixie price for a 12 pk was closer to $10; 8oz pack of cheese at resort around $6, winn dixie - around $3

Resort prices we found were about double normal grocery store prices.

Delivery costs are a lot cheaper than a taxi fare. It is only 12 dollars for delivery from garden grocer. A taxi will be over 30 one way

Is there a list of what grocery stores and the like that are nearby?

Husband was wondering about groceries for our room. With 2 kiddies (3 and 4) we go thru milk like crazy. We could bring snacks with us on our flight but that may eat up baggage space and weight and we weren't sure if buying items on site was the best way to go. We are using the DDP but wanted to have stuff in our room.
