Hi there I have been reading pages over and over and cant see how to make a request for a certain type room. Can someone please point me to information on how to request a king bed at Little Mermaid and a River room at Port Orleans Riverside? Thank you in advance.

The best way to make a room request is to call the Main WDW Reservation line and have it noted on your reservation.
In all cases a request is just a request and never guaranteed

#1 Make sure that the specific room you are wanting is what you are paying for

I make my requests through Touring Plans. (I have the subscription.) I have received wonderful rooms this way.

River room is a bookable category that cost more at riverside. If you didn’t book it then I doubt you get it on request.

If you want a River Room, you need to modify your reservation if that booking category is still available. As others have suggested, call CRO and have your requests listed on your reservation.

Same here. Calling WDW for anything is just a nightmare. Repeating all the info at least twice, conf number, name, address, etc. Plus holds. No thank you. Not when using TP to fax it works just as well. If they didn't offer it I'd fax it myself. We are in our 3rd room this trip and all 3 have been exactly what I asked for

I just call and have room requests added to my room reservation. If you have a river view booked then you don't need to request that. If you don't then it is highly unlikely that you will get a river view and you 'wasted' a request. I usually request "as nice a view as possible" when booking standard view. We have had some surprisingly lovely views in standard rooms with that request alone. Meanwhile, room views are really not that important at moderates, IMO, as you have outside walkways going past your room. It really isn't something that you get to enjoy like at a deluxe with a balcony, so I don't get overly worried about the 'view' in moderates or values. We prefer to request top floor (less noise/traffic) and a location near the food court and buses (for convenience).

Touring plans does help a lot with making requests. We have had about a 50% (rough guesstimate) success rate with requests being fulfilled. I try to look at the worst rooms in a given category and book that category if I will be happy in those. If not, I change the category or resort. I have been known to end up in those 'worst case scenario' rooms! LOL! And it was fine, we still had a great time.

Like others have mentioned, POR RV is a booking category and you would have a very slim chance of getting it with a request, especially if you just have a SV reservation because that would be going up 2 categories. As for requests, I call and then follow up with a fax and if you decide to do online check-in I would skip (if even working) the room request part of online check-in.

You used to be able to do it online but now I think you have to call . Which sucks for anti social people like me lol

I have tp
Where do I find the request thing to put in through them?
Thanks:)

Go to your dashboard
Create a trip
There's a link to click, fill in the blanks
Once you do that you'll see how to select a room and create a fax

And it will remind you that you are requesting Type X, so be sure that you are requesting the type of room you have reserved because that increases your odds of getting close to your request.

If you're requesting a type of room you did not reserve (as others have said, River View is a bookable category), your odds of getting it drop way down, and you'll be at the mercy of the room assigner because s/he will not know what your requests are for the type of room you reserved.

I gotta admit too that personally I don't have the guts to request a room level higher than what I booked. I guess folks do all the time but it goes against every binge in my body

I agree. At one point for a stay I had a standard room reserved at AKL, and I was terrified to request one of the rooms that has a partial Savannah View, even with a lot of Standard rooms falling into that. I didn't want them thinking I was requesting "above my pay grade" so to speak.

Thanks
I booked preferred at CBR so id be closer to transport and main area for when the teens abandon me ha ha and I’m stuck coming back with tired crabby preschoolers on my own lol

Any thoughts to where I should what I should ask for ??
