Just did the on line check in at Beach Club and would like to have made a room request but there was no option to do this. Under "room request" there were to options you could check, one was for a refridgerator and the other was for a crib. How can I make a room request?? Can I e mail the beach club or call them?

You should have had it added to your reservation, that is the best way to insure the room assigners will get it. Seeing your still a couple days over a week out, it may not be too late to call and add it. Keep your request general, if you get too specific like asking for certain room, etc you probably won't get it filled. Keep in mind it is a request and there is no promise it will be met.

Seeing as they assign the room when you arrive, there is still plenty of time. Just give Disney a call and add a request.

The resort gets all reservations 3 to 5 days ahead so if you wait until then you can call the resort directly.

People say the resorts don't actually answer the phone, they go to a call center. I called Pop Century last August (the day before we left) and it sure seemed that the lady was at the resort. I asked what room we got and she flat out told me they don't assign it until you arrive.

They are at a call center; they can tell what resort you're calling via caller ID, and they just answer "Disney's Pop Century Resort".

I suspect the 'we don't assign rooms till you arrive' is a scripted answer that they're told to give. Saves a lot of questions that they're not able to answer. And sometimes, resorts do assign rooms on arrival. That answer could really apply to any resort.

And of course, it's possible that the occasional call actually does get through to the resort.

Just call the WDW line, give them your room requests. They will be added to your room reservation. No, you are not talking to the actual resort, but you are talking to the people who will add your requests to your reservation.
Then, about 3-4 days before you arrive, your reservation is sent to the room assigners...they will then juggle things and try to get the guests their requests. It doesn't always work out..what if three people have all requested the same thinig?? Someone is going to have to 'settle' for something a bit different. But really...you're at WDW. There really aren't any truly bad rooms..well, maybe except for that dumpster view room at WL
