How do you like your Traverse?

IIRC, the Enclave has a little softer suspension settings than the Traverse or Acadia. It's definitely meant to be the "plush" version of the 3

I have an Acadia and love it. It handles and rides well and has plenty of room for us. We'll be trading it soon and the Enclave is top on my list. They are a bit nicer and do seem to have a more plush feel.

Love mine. No problems. we bought ours new in Florida and drove it home to NH. used one's from that area would be better than from up north where they rust out the bottom from salt. An excuse to hit disney while picking up your new car.

Lot of love for the Traverse (and related GMC/Buick)! Now just to decide whether to take the plunge. We've only had the Dodge for a year and a half. Since it was 1.9% interest I haven't been in a hurry to pay it off so our equity in it isn't great. Payments on a Traverse like we want will be at least $100/month more depending how much we want to put down. On one hand you could say the creaking and dust are fairly trivial problems. On the other hand where we live the Traverse's All Wheel Drive would be great in the winter.

We have found one that meets our criteria 1.5 hours away which is inconvenient, but it's a better price than any other comparable. DH was ready to run out there tonight, but I'm getting the local dealership to hunt for us for now- since we don't really have to rush. But you also wonder since we haven't found a better price any where else...what if this is the best we can do?

The other thing is the kids (especially DD12) get attached to things. She cried when we traded the last time, and now she is not ready to give up our unique orange van...I admit I feel a bit the same way! Currently it feels like part of our identity!

We have had Dodge Caravans and had a rental Traverse.
I liked the way it drove, but it had WAY WAY WAY less cargo space than a minivan. If you travel a lot with lots of suitcases, the Traverse could be a problem.
There were three of us going on a week cruise and it was very hard to get all our bags in the Traverse. From the outside it looked a little smaller than a van, but the inside was a different story.
Also, if the third row seating is used, the back glass is really close to their heads.
I really liked it other than the small storage it offered.

We went from a Grand Caravan to an Acadia and while there is less cargo room, it has never become an issue during regular day to day use for us. It is however an issue when we travel so we opted to buy a waterproof rooftop cargo bag. It was under $100 and works great. It also folds up nicely so it doesn't take up a bunch of space in the garage.

Also, we use the third all the time and I've never noticed anyone's head being close to the glass.

There is definitely less cargo space than a van, but if you were struggling to get 3 people & a week's worth of luggage in, you must have WAY overpacked

We have an Acadia (GMC version of the Traverse) and love it, BUT we also had to replace the transmission at ~95,000 miles which is way early IMO. Oddly enough, the dealer was far & away the cheapest bid for that work. But when I called around, they all said the same thing - you lost 3rd, 5th, and reverse didn't you? So, it must be a fairly common repair. That said, bad transmission are a fairly common repair with Dodge minivans as well.

Edit: ours is a 2008 & we bought it new.

We have the 2011 Acadia and LOVE it! But when we were shopping we looked at the 2008 and when we researched it all the reviews said the transmission went out early on it. I guess that was the first year they made it and had to work the bugs out. We haven't had any problems with our 2011.

In 2011 we bought a used 2010 Traverse, loved it! The week before we drove to WDW this summer, DH took it to get the oil changed and checked out before the long trip. He went to the dealership and decided to look at new ones while he waited. Now I have a brand new 2014 Traverse with all the bells and whistles! Love it!

I have had a Traverse for almost 2 years now and LOVE it and so do the kids. Its a wonderful car to travel around in.
