How do you know if a cell phone "gets" text messages?

Do all cell phone get texts? If someone has a work cell phone, maybe it's not set up for texting, would you know? I'm not sure if the texts I am sending are being received...it is to someones work phone cell phone.

I am pretty sure all phones "get" text messages but for those that don't have a plan they have to pay for each text they open so they may choose not to open them.

Yeah, but if a company, or a school district, didn't want it's employees texting a lot, would it block all texting...

DH has a blackberry through work, and although he gets texts in the form of emails, he can't text, which is a PITA in this day and age!

I know people that still use the "old time" cell phones with no screen for texting.

Please don't text someone's "work" cell phone unless you have their permission. Some companies look down on this and don't want to have to pay for all the messages that friends are sending to their employees. My DH has this problem. It's frustrating.
