A few months ago my brother came over to help me and my husband cut some over growth in our yard. He owns a chainsaw and we don't. Anyway we cut down two huge cactus plants, which was so fun, by the way. Anyway he cut them about an inch or two from the ground. I noticed recently that they are sprouting back up. I was hoping to find a way to kill them without digging up the stumps and with out using gas or something else that could be toxic to the ground water. Any suggestions would be great!!

Drill a few holes in the top of them and pour some salt down in there, that should kill them.

That, or let me know where ya live. I'll kill it. I can kill ANY green thing. African violets are my specialty. All I have to do is touch it. I'm not allowed to have plants.

:rotfl2:that is too funny!! I live in Florida, about 30 minutes from Mickey's house!!

Put it in my kitchen and I'll kill it in less than a month. Last plant I had died from lack of water. I kept it right next to the sink. I think I'm on some sort of list where I am banned from owning any type of plant. :rolleyes1

Plants have been know to commit suicide in the back of my car on the way home from the nursery. The minute I walk into Home Depot, I can hear the whimpering from the nursery department. I've even killed off artificial plants. I'm hopeless. Just tell me which direction to look, and your cacti will be dead in hours.
