How do you keep your jewelry?

I have a jewelry box but the earrings, pins, necklaces and watches all seem to get tangled up. Several pairs of earrings I don't wear because I can never seem to find the match to the pair. About once a year I'll organize the jewelry box and it goes good for awhile but then gets messed up again.
The earring trees never seem to be big enough and I can't imagine having a whole bunch of them on the dresser.
Do any of you have great tips for places to put your necklaces, earrings, watches?

No, I had a huge armoir for mine and it took up too much space. Then, I just got a small jewelry box and threw a lot of my costume jewelry away! I am sure someone has a better idea than mine!

I have my earrings in a small jewelry box. My necklaces are hanging on the hook of one of those things that you put over your bedroom door to hang clothes on. Mine has maybe 6 hooks on it and I'm never using all of them so I figured it's a good place to put them. It hooks behind the door so no one can see the necklaces. Speaking of jewelry, does anybody know how to keep silver from tarnishing?
