How do you keep track of your 'intinerary' while in the park?

I have been working on the planning for our upcoming trip for a while now. I have an organized document table that I used to help 'pencil' in which park we will attend which day, based on Extra Magic Hours and other events, and it helped me know which day to book ADR's.

I'm not by any means trying to plan our vacation to the minute, but a general idea of how to maximize our days while at Disney, whether a day at the parks or a day to fit in time at the pool, mini-golf, DTD, etc. But I am also collecting advice and tips from members on the boards of things that I think our family would enjoy, such as watching Wishes from the beach at Poly (following our dinner that night), trying the Club Cool soda samples while at Epcot, etc. Things that I would not have normally thought of doing before and if given the time each day I'd like to try to do.

So now I'm wondering what convenient/easy way I can keep track of this list to be able to refer to each day while at the parks and what others have done. Whether a cute crafted checklist in a Disney themed pocket book sized folder, or plugged into a smartphone (I have an Android). I am pretty crafty, so making something would be fun, but I'd love to see ideas if others have done this.

Honestly, we have always done things without any itinerary. We know the places we want to hit up, but then the rest is just to go with the flow. It has always worked for us. I feel if we try to follow something it makes for cranky kids and adults. ;)

Keep a printed copy hanging in the room, check it each night to prepare for the next day. Keep of ADR times and #'s on smart phone app. Don't take annything to park been enough we already know what we plan to do that day.

I make a little excel calendar with restaurant reservations, extra magic hours, and main things we want to do that day. Nothing big and it only comes out to one page.

I have always used a laminated business card with the park logo on the front. One the back I print our ADR's for the day, parks hours, parade times,
and a list of must-sees. Punched with a hole puncher and hung with a caribeaner onto my Jansport Half-pint backpack, I have always found this works the best. Now I have an IPhone so I'm not exactly sure what I will do...

I used to write things out on color coded index cards (rides, ht requirements, location & brief description). A different color for each park. Of course now we don't need anything like that, but it worked really well to jog our memories of what we didn't want to miss. I still make a list of ADRs with the confirmation #s and give a copy to DH who keeps it in his wallet. We have iPhones now, so will probably just put that info on the phones now.

I put everything I need into my Google calendar, (ie. ADR #s, AAA story time res #, AAA fireworks viewing #, etc) that syncs with my smart phone. I'm going to be carrying it with me into the parks, anyway...now have all our plans, #s at my finger tips!

Sent from my Toshiba Thrive 32GB using the DISBoards App

When we went to DL in 2011 I used RideMax and printed our schedules to PDF and then we carried them on our iPhones.

But at DL we didn't have ADRs and stuff to deal with. I'm thinking for our 2013 trip, I may keep an excel workbook with a page for each day and print them to pdf to have on the iPhone.

Good thread! I'll be watching for other's ideas.

Thanks!

For park hours, EMH rides, refurbs, planned parks, ADRs, etc I have a simply formatted sheet that we keep in the hotel room. That allows anyone in the family to look at it whenever they want. We can reference what we have planned. (We are a lot looser with our plans now that the kids are a bit older.)

I put hotel and ADR confirmation numbers on my calendar in my Blackberry. I have never had to use a confirmation number - just our name - but from time to time I read about someone needing one on the boards.

get the trip it app. It will import ressies and flight info and hotel info. You can make it public to any one you want, and everyone can access ALL the info you could ever need on thier phones!

RideMax. Hadn't heard about that. I checked it out and it looks like this could work for us.

Definitely love the boards to get ideas that I wouldn't have normally thought of. Thanks!

Even though we have an Android and a Blackberry between me and my husband, I guess I'm old school! I bought a small spiral bound notebook. I used a highlight to mark the edges of 4 sections (for each of the parks) and am writing our daily schedule, helpful hints, different resrevations, and also leaving LOTS of room for taking notes (or paper to tear out for our girls to draw on while waiting in lines). I figure I'll keep it in a ziploc bag, so it doesn't get wet and smear. It's on the small size, so it's perfect to keep in the backpack, and the spiral part lets us keep it open to view quickly.

I have done touring plans that match the book, and will be able to access those on my phone, but my battery doesn't always hold out too long, so I'm glad I'll have the paper back up...just in case!

I have lived by this app. I can make changes and adjustments to my schedule, and have it at my fingertips.
