How do you keep the rodents out of your pool?

I don't know how to help you, but I'm thinking maybe a pool might be the answer to my gopher problem. :rotfl2:

HOOT OWL
They make plastic owls that you place near the pool. It is solar powered and rotates its head back and forth. They may sell these at Garden supply stores and I found the one above at Home Depot. That usually works. Call your local pool supply store and see what they recommend.

honestly the reason they are in the pool is because they are looking for water to drink and fell in. it might be as simple as just putting a water bowl out for them to drink..

But wouldn't the animals go for the BIG bowl of water (pool) before they go for the little bowl of water?

How about dropping a couple of snakes in the pool? That way, they would at least eat the animals that fall in, and you wouldn't have to fish them out!

I'll try that too, this is RIDICULOUS.... this morning? A bat... every single day there's some creature in my pool, first a dead squirrel, then the frog, then the chipmunk, then the bat, which, coincidentally DH dug out and we think might have lived.... I have no idea if the frog was dead or alive, I think he was dead....

I can't believe it, what the heck is wrong with these stupid creatures :badpc: STAY HOME!!!!

About the chipmunks they were seriously just chasing after eachother and one fell in (poor chippy)... But here I sit watching for more creatures, EWW!!!!

Maybe that is why the former owners moved;)

Could be, although they moved to France.... do you know they gave away an eight thousand dollar hot tub just because they didn't like it?? I just found out a couple of weeks ago from one of my other neighbors that was the one who found the taker! Oh was I mad!!! Course now I might just be happy cause god knows what I would have found in it by now....

We opened our pool three weeks ago. We have had a squirrel, numerous mice, two birds and a few chipmunks floating in our pool since it we opened it.

It is really freaky. It is my husband's job to get them out. I can't do it. We have two dogs and a cat. You would think they would help to keep the little creatures away!

Good luck. Let me know if you come up with anything that works!

We have an in ground pool. It seems so glamorous until you find dead things in it.

We don't have.many trees so I don't ever see squirrels. Maybe that is the answer! Cut down all your trees.

I have a lab and a retriever . My retriever unfortunately takes care of the bunnies. So at least they stay away now.

We have had frogs. I think mice too..I think the answer is beside your squirrel ladder and cutting down all your trees...is to not or look!

I get so skeeved with the dead things so I have gone back into my little bubble. I don't look at the skimmers....ever. ...Ever! I will net out spiders because I can't swim with them. That's it.

Btw..I agree that owls dontbwork! We have a big one to stop the damn birds from pooping on the pool deck and and scare critters My owl now has pop on it. They are having target practice on him...bastards.
