How do you interpret this?

Sounds like something a camping trip could cure!

From the Fort rules given at check in.
"Guest Equipment.....All guests accommodations must be contained to pad. One additional dining structure may be placed off pad, not extending past 10 feet."

So, if I can fit 2/3 camping vehicles on my pad am I obeying the rules?

To me that says that all tents and trailers must be on the concrete or sand pads. An EZ up type awning can be off the concrete or sand pads. I've seen 3-4 tents off the pad in 1500 by the Comfort Station scattered all across the back and kinda close to the main road which is what Disney is trying to discourage (they had 2 EZ ups with lights strung on the sand pad).

To me that statement doesn't say anything regarding vehicles. "guest accommodations" doesn't seem to equal vehicles (unless, of course, someone is sleeping in the car ;-).

Bama Ed

Agree, I think it refers to sleeping / eating equipment.

1) One manager said we are trying to wean people from the practice of multiple tents.
2) They want things more uniform, straight, and neat.
3) He said things have gotten out of control (whatever that means).

By camping vehicles I meant campers/RV's. To me it seems like you can place as many as can fit on your pad. Not just one. They really need better wording. Or they are covering their butt when there are more than one and someone complains.

Rusty, tell the manager for me....

"ENFORCE THE RULES or pay for my single huge tent.

1) I fully agree.
2) We ignore far too many rules at resorts and parks.
3) Managers are AFRAID to enforce rules.
. . . The PRINTED mantra is, "This WDW vacation should be the guest's best WDW vacation, EVER!"
. . . Managers will go to almost any extent to not let a complaint go over their head.
. . . When complaints go "uphill", careers are slowed or destroyed.

NOTE: I once stopped a kid from skating in the WL lobby, using tennis shoe "heelies". The parents complained to a manager. When called into the office, I explained the kid bumped into other guests, and almost knocked down an older couple. I was told that this would be the kid's problem and the parent's problem. I was "counseled" to not interfere. I am retired and do this for fun, not as a profession, so I POLITELY told the manager and the HR Representative, that I would continue to enforce the stated rules. If they wish to proceed with any action or discipline, we can do legal battle. As a former Plant Manager and CEO, I do know a little about workplace law. I haven't been bothered since, even when I was counseled about doing weddings and/or vow renewals in guest rooms or on their campsites. (That pesky Constitution sometimes gets in the way - don't you know.)

Like Ed, tell them that I said that their lack of enforcing the rules IS what's keeping it from being my best vacation ever.

Curious what your constitution has to do with this?

If you want them to enforce the rules, does that apply to all rules?

I've spent a great deal of time studying, researching and working within the American legal system and I feel that I have a pretty good understanding of how it all works. I'm curious if you could tell me what protections the Constitution provides citizens in regards to the activities you noted in your post? I'd certainly like to research this further and I'd be very interested in researching this further based on your response. Thanks.

Actually, when Ed posts it there is usually a "sigh" which to me is even better.

No, I wouldn't expect an answer. None needed. Bama Ed
