How do you handle the Dining Plan with a renter

I have a few extra points that I am renting out. The renter wants to add the Dining Plan. Since you now have to pay for the Dining Plan when you add it to the reservation, how do I do that? I would not want to give my credit card number to a stranger. What is the safest way to do this for everyone?:confused3

I would suggest they pay you for the dining plan via paypal first, then you call and the dining plan. Nobody but member services has your credit card information.

This is exactly what I did. The renter sent both that fee along with the dining plan cost via Paypal. Once those funds cleared is when I made the DDP reservation. Not difficult at all.

I recently had the same issue. We worked it out by having the renter buy Disney gift cards. I called member services from work, gave them my information and then added the renter as a conference call. She gave member services the numbers from the gift cards and it was all set.

I have rented points and will be paying for the dining plan with gift cards. I paid for the reservation with paypal. This way nobody has my card info and I don't have theirs so we are all happy.:)

This is how do it as well. I tell them that it must be paid for at the point of addition to the reservation, and I won't add it until I have the funds in hand from them for that purpose - I explain that it will be a separate transaction from the initial reservation call, and that it will be about 7 days after they initiate the Paypal payment before I phone MS to add it to help manage their expectations. If they choose to wait until closer to their arrival - that's fine - they understand the 48 hour prior to check-in rule and have to ensure payment has enough time to meet that rule. I don't mind making a 2nd call to MS for them - and if they want to wait to spread out the cost of their vacation a bit, I'm cool with that since I won't do it in the initial call not having their DP $ upfront.

Well because I usually rent to people I know, I get on the phone with them and talk to MS, then I put the renter on the phone (or do a threeway call) and let the renter give them their CC info.
