How do you handle perishables when checking out and checking in to another villa?

Because Delta cancelled our flights in July, we had to add on anoher night to our BCV vacation. We are thinking about BWV since it is so close (and thought this would be a good opportunity to see the Boardwalk villas for the first time too) and we can just walk over to the BCV's in the morning after one night there. We're doing the grocery stop, staying in a BW studio (will be reserving this in the a.m.) but what do you do if we check out at 8:00 am, but the BCV isn't available till 4:00 pm? Will this be a pain or should I just get a studio at BCV and forget about the BW? I really wanted to try that cool clown slide. :smooth:
p.s. I plan on getting a couple of gallons of milk and half gal. of OJ and some other small fridge stuff.

All DVC resorts have refrigerated storage, so you can leave your perishables at either resort until your room is ready. They have the ability to store both frozen and perishable items.

Enjoy!

Thanks Doc. How do you transport these items, with the rest of your luggage? And will the receiving villa (BCV's) know to put it in the fridge, how do you handle that?

You will need to hand carry the perishables to the new resort to be safe.

They can probably do that for you, but I wouldn't trust the "system" to handle the food in an appropriate fashion to suit me.

For a move from BWV to BCV, let them transfer your luggage (don't plan on seeing it until after 4 - so plan ahead), but carry the perishable stuff to BCV yourself and let them put it in the fridge for you. You could also consider a cab (about $10) and know that everything makes it yourself.

Enjoy!

Great, thank you Doc.
