I have a call into my doctor, have stopped taking it but now what?
Ive been taking it since April in a low dose.
Hopefully I wont have any of these side effects  :( Im scared.

here is the article...

Consumer advocate renews call for ban on cholesterol drug

A consumer advocacy group is once again urging the government to ban the new anti-cholesterol drug Crestor.
Public Citizen says Crestor should be banned because of new cases of a life-threatening side effect among patients who took low doses of the medicine.

Food and Drug Administration records show eleven new cases of a muscle destroying condition among patients who took Crestor since February. More than half were taking a low dose of the drug, and nine required hospitalization.

The F-D-A says it's monitoring Crestor.

Crestor maker AstraZeneca says the drug's safety ``is totally consistent'' with other popular cholesterol-lowering medications.

Just wait to see what your dr says. I have read about this before. My friend stopped it because of this. ALWAYS read up on meds before you take them...that is the best advice I can give.

The problem is reading up on it doesn't give you the "newly discovered" side effects or side effects that the pharmaceutical industry doesn't want made public.
