i'm just curious, how do you go about changing guides?

even though i reached him on sunday to request an add-on, apparently he never entered it into the system. :( (i called and spoke w/ another guide today who said she didn't see that anything had been entered in, she thought it was odd too)
and then he's been out of the office forever, he keeps intermittently being out of the office. and he's inconsistent about responding to my messages.
plus, he's kind of a bit sleazy and tried to hard sell me on the add-on (i already knew i wanted it though).

i don't know... *sigh* when i found out who my guide was, i didn't recognize the name from the guides that people have praised on these boards. and i thought i'd give him a chance. but so far, i'm not happy.

is it rude to change guides? is it difficult to do so? the guide i spoke to today was 10 times nicer.

what's your experience been changing guides?

I never had to do it but I recommend mine...Judy Kaufman. I would call MS and ask to be transferred directly to the new guide's line. Good luck. It's a sticky situation but you need to be comfortable with the person with whom you're working. Did you get the name of the person you spoke with today?

yeah, i think i got her name.
she said she could've reentered the add-on for me, but she felt more comfortable letting my guide do it when he gets back into the office later this week.

every day that goes by is another day i can't make my BWV ressies. :(

i guess i initiated the add-on process w/ my guide, so he's supposed to get the commission? so it'd probably be extremely difficult to change guides and add-on w/ someone else, right?

argh. i wish i'd just requested a different guide (one that'd been recommended on these boards) in the first place, but this always happens to me... i give people the benefit of the doubt and then get disappointed. :(

When you call in ask to be put to the manager ( I think they are the only ones that can change your guide )

My old guide was pushy and when he called after I had taken my 1st trip he didn't even care about my concerns.

I called in and complained about him and also was given a new guide at my request.

I would call and change guides before the info gets in the system...I changed guides and my second guide is way better then my first slimey guide...

No, I don't think so. If a car salesman was rude to you or did the same things that the DVC salesman did would you stick with them? You are giving (and already have given) DVD a bunch of money. Thats your "investment" with DVD. If the salesman in turn, will not "invest" his time in making sure you are happy, then maybe its time to find a salesperson that will.

yes, there were some guides in the office on Easter Sunday.

anyway, i called to try to change guides and got forwarded to a guide who said he's good friends w/ my guide, so i didn't feel right saying anything. *sigh*
looks like i'm waiting 'till my guide gets back and calls me. oh well.

Call and ask for the Manager and have them assign you a new guide......That's what I did..

which also means you are the boss. If your not happy with your guide, that's not your fault. If he takes you dumping him personal, that's his fault. DVC is a business. If he had done his job to your satisfaction, you wouldn't be looking to replace him.

How often do you speak to your guide? Is a guide the person who sold you the DVC? So, if I were to add on, I would call and ask for the woman who sold us our original points? Just curious.

Anyone else have Celeste for a guide? We loved her. Very helpful, and she had unbelievable patience with my husband! LOL.

I just had the same problem today. My guide is out, but my order was supposed to be placed anyway. I called and spoke with another guide yesterday, and in understanding things may be a little chaotic, I waited till last thing last night to call MS again. Still nothing. I called MS this morning, still nothing. They finally linked me up with the same guide I spoke with yesterday and he looked everywhere for my order but found nothing except for the notes in the computer that I was adding on. So he did it all over again w/my cc. Hope it doesn't get posted twice:eek: I attributed this to a busy work environment as opposed to the failure of my guide or the person handeling my sale in her absence. He was really nice, understanding, and SINCERE, something you do not always find from guides who are not yours(they get nothing from you therefore they brush you off kind of thing). So I got home and called at 5:15 and the points were there and we are booked for Memorial Day week. Not sure who you have but this guy was really super. If you are not happy then switch. We thought initially this was a one time deal and never gave a thought about a long term relationship with this person. As it turns out we're going on over 4 years and 7 sales later. I haven't bought that many vehicles in my life. Do yourself a favor, get someone you like.

I sort of just switched my guide myself. The guy who sold us our original interest was pushy and somewhat smart alecky so I started talking to Linda Streetman who is not pushy at all and is a real delight to deal with. I have also reccomended her to friends who are considering joining. I would highly reccomend Linda.
