How do YOU get to port...

...if you don't have a package?

We are staying at the Swan before our cruise. I have not figured out how to get to Port. There are five of us.

We have used Tiffany Towncar both times that we have cruised. They can pick you up at the Swan and deliver you directly to Port Canaveral. I believe that you should also be able to purchase DCL transfers, but it might cost less with 5 of you to use a towncar service.

CRB #33, How are you getting to the Swan? Tiffany can give you a package rate to pick you up at the airport (much cheaper for a family of 4+ than Mears), bring you to the Swan, pick you up at the Swan and bring you to the port and then pick you up to bring you back to the airport. Does that make sense?!! My family of 9 hired them in Nov to do pretty much the same thing I just described except in a different order.

Another option is to rent a car from Avis. You can return the car to the Avis office that is right at the port and there are no one-way fees. This may be a bit tight with 5 depending on how much luggage you have, but it is usually one of the least expensive options. Dave has some great info about this at his site.

We use a towncar for all the legs of the trip (airport->WDW->cruise->airport). It's fabulous! We have used Tiffany and Happy Limo. We went with Happy Limo the second time because we needed a limo (4 people and LOTS of luggage) and Happy was the cheapest. Happy and Tiffany were both great!

We booked Happy Limo for all three legs Airport - Old Key West - Port Canaveral - and back to airport. 6 passenger limo was cheaper than a mini-van. (4 adults, lots of luggage). About $350.

Can't wait...

We too use Happy Limo...we have used them for various combinations of MCO/WDW/port and have always gotten great service. I am a big fan of towncars vs. shuttles! Definitely the best way to go.

We have always rented from AVIS, especially if we have 4 or more. The drop-off is close to the ship , and they have a pick-up at the Hilton at Lake Buena Vista ...

We have always used DCL transfers for our 4 other cruises, but this time for our 2/23/02 cruise we are renting a car from Avis to the Port. I got a great rate with a code from www.Mousesavers.com for a van for only $56.25. There will be four of us with alot of luggage. This was definitely the cheapest we found so far.

We used Tiffany Towncar last year and were very pleased. We are driving this year, so we will be parking our own car at the port.

We flew into Orlando the night before the cruise, and stayed at the Hyatt at the airport.

The next morning, bright and early (around 9, I recall), we trekked over to the Avis car rental place, rented a car, then drove the hour or so to Port Canaveral. Dropped off the car at the Ramada, maybe a mile from the ship, and took their complimentary shuttle to the port.

Easy, painless, very cost effective. The whole thing cost less than $40.

Best part: we arrived around 10:30, and were among the first in line to get on the ship (which started boarding around 12:15).

Which meant we were among the first to make ressies at Palos, at the spa, and ALSO among the first to dive into the fabulous shrimp at the buffet upstairs.

GregK....you mean the Radisson, right, not the Ramada? I don't there is a Ramada that close to the Port.

The Radisson does provide a complimentary shuttle and has the Avis drop off.
