How do you get more days at Castaway Cay?

Looking thru our photos from the Magic 9/21 we commented how much we enjoyed CC and how DS3.5 loved the shallow, calm warm water and the lovely sand. SO we wish we could have more days there, so dh mentioned maybe we could do two 3 days or two 4 days. But I think we would have to do a 3 and 4 day is that right?, and would it be far too expensive?, I am sure I have read about it being done so if someone could help us figure it out before I call I would really appreciate it as search is not working for me. Also do you get to stay on the ship between changes at PortC and keep the same room?. TIA

As near as I can tell, there are two ways to have a cruise which calls twice at Castaway Cay. The first would be doing a back-to-back 3 and 4-day. You couldn't do two 3-days or two 4-days, as the 3-days sail on Thursdays and the 4-days sail on Sundays. I'm not sure about the cost of this vs. a 7-day cruise, but it's something that we plan on doing, maybe next year. We've only ever been on the 7-day cruises, so we've never been on the Wonder.

The other way is if the ship is diverted due to a storm. I know that at least twice the Magic has altered its itinerary and made two calls at Castaway Cay. I think that on both occasions it's also stopped at San Juan, PR. Of course, you can't really count on this happening.

As far as staying on the ship in Port Canaveral for back-to-back cruises, I think this is usually allowed, but the decision is actually made on the turnaround day. There have been some people on this board who have done back-to-back cruises, so I'm sure that they can add to this.

If the same room is available for both cruises, I would imagine you could leave your luggage there. I would think that they would want you to keep the same room, if possible.

I've priced out a back-to-back 3 and 4 day cruise and it is a bit more expensive than a 7-day cruise, but not outrageously so. You can always play with dates and variations on the Disney travel site.

Barb and Tony might know the rates for back to back, and how it all works (staterooms, dining arrangements, check-in, etc), I know they recently did a 3 peat--back to back to back cruises! Lucky ducks!

You may want to even plan an extended vacation --- 3 days on the wonder -- 4 days at wdw -- and then 3 more days on the Wonder --- Sounds like a 10 day vacation that I would LOVE to take!

Ooooooooooo, wovenwonder, I haven't thought about that. I'll start saving right now.

we did that once, 3 day cruise - 4 day WDW - 3 day cruise.

Back when you could get a Grand Floridian upgrade as a Castaway Club perk. If you did the 7 day land/sea package.
