How do you get from the Port Canaveral Pier to WDW Resort?

We'll be coming off Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas and going to stay at a WDW resort property (not sure which one just yet, maybe Old Key West). What is the best way to get there???

We are most likely booking our Disney vacay through Disney online and will hope to use Magical Express on the way home.

Just wondering if they have service there (Magical Express) or should we grab a cab at the pier or book a town car through Mears or something?

I dunno how far it is from the pier to Disney World itself.

Thanks in advance for your help!

We always rent a car when we arrive at the airport to drive to the port and back to disney. It's cheaper for us to do it this way vs the transportation fees that Disney charges. We just did it in December 09. Parking at the port is $15 a day.

Look into rental cars. There is an Avis office and Budget office close to the terminal. If you don't want to keep the car at Disney, I think there is an Avis office at the Hilton at DTD. You could also book a limo/van service. It's only about 1 to 1.5 hours back to WDW.

A car service is nice...picks you right up at the ship. But, if you don't mind driving, I would rent a car. The rental companies have shuttles that run between the ships and their offices. And it's sure to be cheaper than a car service since you just need to get from point A to point B...and it's an easy drive, about 45 or so mins.

Have fun on the ship, me and my dd's did a cruise with RC "Freedom of the Sea's last August. I know they have shuttle for $28 a person, you can book this online, or on the ship. Once you get to the airport, you can take DME to WDW. It's a hoot, after you get off the ship and onto your shuttle bus. Our bus driver joked with us, and said "enjoy your comatose ride". You will not believe how tired you are when you get off the ship. We had a 7:45 a.m. departure, and we were at the airport by 9:30 a.m. They get you off the ship really fast.
You can take your own luggage off the ship, you don't have to check it. Otherwise after deportion, you go to a holding room, and pick up your luggage. Then just walk outside, and they direct you to a shuttle bus. We flew home with AirTran, and we were taken right to the desk. I'm sure they would put you on a bus, near DME.

If you don't go this route, you can hire a town car service, and it will run around $100 or more.
