How do you get from POP to Universal?

Do they ever do buses or would we have to call a cab? We're thinking of maybe doing one day at Universal, but we're not going to have a car. Has anyone done this? Is it a pain to get back to the hotel?

Thanks! :)

Since POP is a WDW resort you will only find buses to the WDW parks and DTD. To leave WDW property and visit Universal parks or Seawold etc you have to arrange for your own transportation.

You can rent a car for the day from two locations inside WDW, you can call a cab, hire a town car or use a mears shuttle. I know mears has a website that should give you shuttle and town car information and prices.

Hm, looks like calling a cab might be the easiest option. Anyone done it? How much does it cost (ballpark) and how do you get back home? Call a cab from Universal somewhere? Would I need to bring a carseat for the cab ride for my 4 year old?

Mears shuttle will pick you up.

There's a direct phone line down in the Pop lobby.Ask the front desk about it. Not sure of the cost.

herc.

A cab from the boardwalk to the Orlando airport was $50. I would bet that would be the fare to Universal, one way.

On our Feb 2005 trip, DS and DB took Mears cab to Universal from POP; at that time it was $25 one way. We considered town car service, but didn't want to be tied down to certain times & price at that time was about the same or a bit more. Time is money at Disney, so we decided against the rental car idea ... too much wasted time and frustration. Next year we are all going to Universal one day and will do the cab thing ... much easier and less stressful .. and that is what vacations are supposed to be!

I called Mears a while back to ask them about getting a shuttle from LBV area to Universal for "Horror Nights" and they told me $15 per person Round Trip.
