STOP sending dire warning Emails????

Is it rude to send the snopes article every time? Of course they're always there.

You know I shouldn't even worry because I'll be keeling over any minute due to freezing water in plastic bottles, using Glade Plug ins, microwaving my food, eating at Taco Bell......

Beats me- I always tell them, "I looked that up and it was total garbage!"

Send them a nice email telling them that you would rather not recieve those types of emails, ...if you have alot of emails to go through everyday you could tell them that it just uses up alot of your email space. Let them know that personal emails are ok.

I've found that deleting without reading works wonders. Is it a pain? Kinda. Would I rather them stop all together? You bet. But it's not worth getting into it w/my offending sender so anything that looks like a forward gets deleted.

It depends on how much you want to risk offending the person! If you're okay with that, the by all means go ahead and send them the Snopes pages. I'll do that too (or the Symantec page if it's virus-related) along with a "please look this stuff up before you send out these emails" note.

OTOH if I know it's going to cause a big stink if I do that (like, say, with my aunt) then I just quietly delete them.

snopes is what I do.

Most of the time I just delete delete delete

You send them the snopes, but you preface it with....I didn't want anyone to think you really believed this, so I thought I would send you the snopes. You should check that out on your emails. It is really a riot.

Maybe that would let them know they were looking a little stupid! I had a friend doing the same thing and that stopped it...
Good luck

I work with someone who forwards those emails. I just delete them. And it seems that lately, she's repeating herself.

I do the same thing. I don't have to read it, and I don't get anyone mad.

Mine wasn't an e-mail but a phone call. My DB called to tell me that my soul will burn in hell because I not only voted for Bush, but am now going to work at Wal-Mart for Christmas money.
He asked what I was thinking applying at Wal-Mart? I said I was thinking of my 3 kids and me not having Christmas money. It's also less than 1 mile from my house and my car is broken down so I could walk if I have to.

I used to get annoyed with everyone who sent them, but then my uncle got a computer. He is king of the e-mail forward. He's in his 80's and obviously enjoys sending them. I just delete them without reading, but think fondly of him and his "quirks" as I do it. I think everyone in the family does the same. Every once in a while he gets on a real roll and we have to call each other to giggle about it.
