How do you get a DIS blog & followers?

AND F. You must have a very thick skin because for every "fan" there are 10 more running to another site to :rolleyes1 about your every word.... :lmao:

Can't help but notice Robin that you bring that up quite a bit, why is that? And more importantly, how do you know? :confused3 ;)

I think that there are several elements necessary to create and sustain a "look at me" blog/thread:

A. You must believe, in your heart, that you are an interesting person. That is not to say that you must be interesting, but only that you believe it. Your excitement for how interesting you think you are will leap off the page and lead others to believe that you really are interesting;B. You must be willing to share details of your life, such as pictures, real names and embarassing situations that most are wise enough not to share. Readers will delight in the fact that someone is brave/silly enough to share such personal information;
C. In conjunction with element B, you must share enough intimate and personal details so that readers feel that they know you and have a vested interest in the outcome of your wedding/childbirth/hemorrhoid treatment. No detail is too personal and if necessary you must sacrifice the privacy of your spouse/child/family/friends;
D. It helps to infer that you are popular and have a large following. Unsuspecting readers will assume that you are popular and thus in an effort to be involved with the popular crowd will follow daily and post often;
E. You may wish to create alter egos and post under the false names in order to create more excitement. For example "I'm subbing!!!!! You had the best wedding ever - it was perfect!!! Your son is the cutest baby I have ever seen and the fact that he fingerpaints with the contents of his diaper at 6 months is surely an indication that he is gifted!!!!" (Multiple exclamation points help the cause.)

By following these simple rules you too can be an internet star and readers will be hooked on the otherwise uninteresting details of your life such as buying shoes, feeding your child and applying anti-itch cream.

:rotfl: Love it.

It's funny to me that most of us regulars on the CB have no idea who the "bloggers" are. The blog thread just shows up here one day out of nowhere :confused3.

I have the feeling y'all are like me, and we're all scratching our heads and wondering the same thing: "What is this thread about, and who are you :confused:?" And then a bunch of posters show up who I've also never heard of.

That's because the CB has become the dumping ground for the other forums here. I've seen a lot of threads get moved here because they are no longer on subject. That's where a lot of them come from. We get the rejected threads. :rotfl:
Poor souls, little do they know what they are getting into.

I remember a poster a few months ago started a blog type thread on the CB but then it wasn't allowed and deleted. Said poster, or someone close to them, questioned why that one wasn't allowed but others were. I'm still confused as to who gets to have a thread/blog and who doesn't? :confused3

:lmao: I've noticed the same thing. Particularly because the OP usually starts with something along the lines of "Well, most of you know me..." We do?

I have noticed that too. I spend most of my DIS time here and know who all the posters on this thread are, but I never know any of the blog people.

OK, I'm glad it wasn't just me. ;)

My first thought when I saw one like this was oh, wow, it's going to be embarrassing when nobody responds....then the groupies move in.
