how do you find the mode

My third grade daughter has a math problem on her homework that I cannot figure out because I do not know the term.

What is the mode for the data?_________________hours

a chart is included
time spent watching tv

hours children
0 1
1 2
2 2
3 4
4 1
5 1

does anyone know?

The mode is simply the number that appears the most in the data set.

The mode for the nmber of hours watched is 3, as 4 of the children watched tv for 3 hours.

Just remember that "mode" sounds like "most."

That is not the mathematically legal way to work the problem, but it seems to help some people remember.
