How do you figure out the difference in price if changing cabins a year after booking?

I'm thinking of switching from deck 6 to deck 7 just so there is a buffer zone of cabins above and below us (plus it will be what I consider the center deck to upper and lower decks that we would utilize. I also dont like the fact the life boats stick out on the Fantasy (unlike the Magic where we had a deck 6 cabin and never really saw them since they are tucked under). Also, the location is directory above where we currently

So my questions are:
* Does going up one deck really make a difference on the Fantasy when it comes to what you see on your verandah (we are closer to mid ship but considered aft)?

* How do you figure out the price difference as cat 4D when I purchased was 1645 and now 1899 and the cat we are thinking of switching is only one up to a 4C but it started out at 1680 and is now 1934. If I'm only paying the difference from when I booked between the two cats I will switch just so I dont have that yellow lifeboat right in my face LOL. BUT if there really is no difference in movement of the ship, view, etc I will just stay on deck 6 and hope for the best of noise below us.

If you are just changing rooms ON THE SAME CRUISE, the price is whatever the price was the day you originally booked.

IMO, one deck really doesn't make that much difference.

I was actually wondering the same thing, only changing categories completely. How does one actually do that and find those prices.

Sorry OP. Jumping in on you. :wave2: ;)

I know you can look up the pricing history for current cruises on cruisefish. But, by calling DCL, they should be able to look it up for you.

Switching up a deck may change your pricing as some decks are considered more premium. I called Disney one year to switch our room to an identical room on another floor. While the rooms were the same, the change of location upped my price by a couple hundred dollars!

Yes, changing categories will result in a different cost. But the price on the new room will be whatever the price was when the original booking was made.

Curious, is there somewhere to actually get a Grand Slam sticker, pin, magnet, etc.? We completed the fourth ship in 2014. Thanks

I look at current pricing to pick the new room and get an idea of the current pricing. Then I shoot an email to my TA and she gets me the actual price.

Yep, my TA has to call in order to change the room. I was able to see the cost when I originally booked at the website PrincessSchmoo mentioned. We know it will be more so thats why we were trying to figure out how much more.

I has done this a few times. If you go in to your reservation and go to modify you can check the price for different room categories available at the price you paid.
