How do you feel about the Animal Kingdom?

Hi everyone. I am trying to guage some opinions about the Animal Kingdom. What has been your experience with the AK. There are roughly 20 attractions (rides/shows/exhibits/activites). Of those, how many have you seen and what do you think of the park?

We have seen just about everything that the park has to offer and our family enjoys spending time there, doing most of the attraction on each trip. On our trips to WDW we generally spend a day and a half at the park. While some in our family enjoy things more than others (ie. I think Kali River Rapids is way too short, but our adventurous little 4 yo loves it and want to go on again and again, or the Tarzan show - the wife and I enjoy the action and music while our 4 yo is not impressed, etc.), on the whole most attractions have something to provide our family.

Since it's not, I'll say 0-5 disliking the park, spending a half day.

Seriously though, I did want to include a "like it but spend a half day or less option", but I felt the ones I included would be most useful. When push comes to shove, those in the "like it but spend a half day or less" probably dislike more about the park than they like - and will vote as you did.

We loved it there. We are an animal loving family and none of us is very thrilled with zoos. AK is so far from a "zoo". It's amazingly detailed, there's no way to see it all in one day. I don't know where this "half day" park thing came in. We were there a full day and had barely scratched the surface. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it on our next trip.

The Animal Kingdom is the best park ever built. Definitely not for those merely looking for coasters, but those admiring the beauty of nature and evolution.

I'm an AK fan. I love many of the attractions there, but I can never get them done in one day. I always seem to spend a lot of time just soaking up the atmosphere and watching the animals and entertainment throughout the park.

I like the Animal Kingdom. One of the things I admire most is the beautiful landscaping throughout the park and especially in the Safari area. At Busch Gardens in Tampa, there are a lot of African animals but no effort was made to recreate the habitat; it's obvious you are in Florida. At Disney, you really feel like you are on Safari. Another attraction I really like is the bird show. There are beautiful, exotic birds exhibiting natural behaviors. It's nice to go early in the day when it's not too hot, because there is a lot of walking and few air conditioned attractions.

AK is definitely my #4 park. It has cool attractions but I think there is room for improvement. I enjoy the 5 hours or so we spend there each trip.

AK is not for everyone but we love it. It's a great opportunity to see the animals in as near a natural habitat as possible. People looking for thrills will do the Safari, Rapids, and maybe a few other attractions. Then they're off to a waterpark or somewhere else. We always take a full day and we're not able to do all we'd like. Maybe with the EMH we might.

I have not been to see the Pocahantes show. I saw the Jungle Book but have not been to see Tarzan. I have seen everything else. I love the park. I do think it needs more attractions. A mix of more big rides (not coasters) and more animal related attractions. This is a great park to expand into a two day park.

We've seen pretty much all of the attractions, like the park, and spent 1 3/4 days there on our last trip (out of two weeks). Its looking like 1 day on our next trip (12 nights).

Lets see--the Safari Ride, Kali River, Primevil Whirl, Countdown to Extinction, It's a Bugs life, Train Ride to the Hospital/petting area.

That's 6 attracations and it's a half day for us. I do think some "wider" walking paths/trails would have been better--gets kind of crowded sometimes.

But we like the park, generally speaking.

I love, love, love Animal Kingdom but we never really spend a full day. We normally go 2 half days.

I love it, last 2 visits have been in May both times it was in the high 90's. My only complaint is in the heat of the day, this park get too hot.

We will be traveling in February this year. There are so many things I've missed each time I've been there, hoping to get them all in this visit.

I have only been there once, but we enjoyed exploring the park. We hit 10 or so must sees...but left right before parade time because it was canceled due to a horrific downpour. We had a great time, and you can stay from open till close, grab dinner somewhere, and still visit another park for evening activities. We went on the fourth of July, and there was no one there!!! I don't fit into your catagories either. I've only seen 5 or 6 attractions there, but I do like the park and would spend a whole day there if it didn't get so hot & crowded.

My catagory would actually be....park is okay, have seen/done 15-20 attractions, spend 1/2 day. It just gets too darned hot mid-day. But as a whole we like the park. It is number 4 park for us.

Ok I voted but I don't feel that I voted honestly. I have to mirror the sentiments of goofy4tink. I voted 6-10 don't like the park and spend 1/2 day. But honestly, I do like the park, but it does get way too hot by afternoon. I see the majors & skeedaddle.

We love Animal Kingdom. It's a great place with a young child who still naps because there is plenty to do and see while pushing a stroller. I voted for a "full day", but we really spend maybe 3/4 of a day at AK since we almost always leave before the parade. Then again, we have an Annual Pass touring mentality and no park is a "full day" park for us anymore. They're all parks that we go into for a few hours and then leave when it gets busy.

Well, I somewhat like the parks, but I still only spend less than half a day there, unless I am doing research.
