How do you feel about 'Hand-me-down' clothes?

Sorry, Yuk, Yuk, Yuk. I have never worn used clothes in my life and I won't let my son (8 years old) wear them. I've had a hard time trying to find a tactful way to say "NO" when I've been offered hand me downs. Also, I won't give my son's clothes to friends who ask for them. I give his clothes away to a shelter or charity. Being offered hand me downs bugs me and being asked for my son's clothes as hand me downs bugs me even more.

A friend of mine has three friends with girls 1 and 2 years older than my daughter and hers. They buy only name brand clothes and pass them ALL to her. She has so much left over she passes them on to me. I don't mind one bit putting Gap Kids, Levi, Gymboree, Health Tex, Carters, etc. on my daughter. I only spent $40 on school clothes for her this year because she gave us a ton of new outfits. Whatever my dd doesn't destroy I pass down to my niece....

Have fun at the swap!

The 'shopping trip' was great!! I came home with 2 overstuffed boxes of things for DD!! Including the makings of a Minnie Mouse Costume for Halloween!! :) I got mostly size 5 & 6 and a few 8 & 10 that I couldn't pass up. I think my cousin took all the 7s for her DD. My SIL probably got the best of the bunch, she got almost brand-new infant/toddler clothing for my niece! It was all so cute. A snow-suit that looked brand-new. Her & I both got a lot of Osh Kosh, Carter's & Healthtex. Three good brands. I got several Disney t-shirts, too (a Mickey Mouse Club t-shirt included)! I would have gone through the 10, 12 14 & junior clothes but, I had to pick DD up from school.

Hey, can't beat the prices either!!! ;) :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

There's absolutely nothing wrong with hand me downs! Would you believe I kept one of oldest DS's Pacific Trail coats and now his younger brother (18 years younger!) will benefit!
